I’m delighted to be featured in the June issue of Swealthy Magazine, where I share the philosophy behind my Her Skin Seasons® framework.

Women’s skin changes throughout life. From our thirties and post-pregnancy skin changes to perimenopause, menopause and beyond. Yet so much of the aesthetics industry still promotes the same treatments, trends and “anti-ageing” advice to everyone.

I don’t believe there is a one-size-fits-all approach. And I don’t believe women need to feel pressured to have every type of treatment, all at once. The best results come from understanding what your skin truly needs, and prioritising treatments thoughtfully, whilst respecting your skin and its tolerance at every stage of life.

As a GP with a diploma in dermatology who is also experienced in aesthetic medicine and women’s health, my goal has always been to help women understand their skin in this context, rather than simply follow trends.

My philosophy has always been to help you look refreshed and like the very best version of yourself, in every season.

“My lips have disappeared.”

It’s one of the most common things I hear from women going through menopause.

As oestrogen levels decline, it’s completely normal for the lips to lose volume, hydration and definition. The borders soften, lipstick begins to feather into fine lines, and many women tell me they no longer recognise this part of their face.

This isn’t about creating bigger lips or following trends.
It’s about restoring what hormonal changes and time have gradually taken away.

As part of my Her Skin Seasons® approach, I view lip rejuvenation in menopause very differently to lip enhancement in younger women. During this season of life, the focus is Restore—subtly replacing lost volume, improving definition and supporting facial harmony, while ensuring the result still looks completely natural.

For this lovely patient, I first used a local anaesthetic injection to keep her comfortable throughout the procedure. I then treated her using a cannula technique, which allows me to restore the lips through a single entry point each side of the lips while helping to minimise bruising and swelling.

The result isn’t a different pair of lips.
It’s her lips, beautifully refreshed, naturally restored and in keeping with the rest of her face.

Undetectable filler is always the goal.

When filler is injected well, it should never look obvious or overdone, it should simply restore support, soften shadows and refresh the face in a natural, harmonious way.

One of the biggest contributors to deepening nasolabial folds is often volume loss through the mid-face.

As women enter the perimenopausal years - sometimes as early as the late 30s and more commonly through the 40s — hormonal changes begin to affect collagen, skin quality and facial fat distribution. One of the first areas we often notice this is in the cheeks, where subtle volume loss can lead to heaviness, flattening and more prominent smile lines.

This result is a perfect example of how natural restoration of mid-face volume loss and the nasolabial area while still keeping the face refreshed, soft and completely natural-looking. 🤍
