I am aware of a post circulating about an incident that took place yesterday, and I want to clarify the situation.

Halfway through working on two ladies’ nails, we were discussing with another customer the cost of her nails up front, based on a photo she had shown us. She had originally asked for longer nails and nail art, which would have been slightly more expensive, but she later changed her mind and opted for shorter nails with a simpler design, so her price was adjusted accordingly. She stayed, paid, and left happily after her appointment.

The two ladies, however, became unhappy about the cost of this other customer’s nails and requested to leave, despite the fact that we had already applied their nail extensions by this point. I requested 50% payment for the work already completed, which they refused, and they then attempted to leave without paying. I explained clearly that if they did not pay, I would need to remove the nail extensions, as they had not been paid for. Despite this, they still tried to leave.

A police report has now been filed, and CCTV evidence has been provided to the authorities. No one was attacked or harmed; however, I was scratched as I attempted to prevent them from leaving the salon while I called the police. This was simply a matter of protecting my business.

Unfortunately, this type of behaviour happens far too often, where people feel it is acceptable to steal from small businesses. This behaviour is completely unacceptable and will not be tolerated. I want to thank my genuine clients for their continued support and respect for the work that goes into every service provided.
