Extensions are hairdressing.
A good result starts before any hair is fitted.
It starts with assessment, suitability, colour knowledge, sourcing the right hair, and knowing what the natural hair can realistically support.
Because if something isn’t right — the colour, weight, placement or hair itself — you need the knowledge and experience to recognise it and deal with it.
Thats why extensions are hairdressing.

You know your hair needs something.
You just don’t know what.
When we feel like that, it’s very easy to think: “Right, change everything.”
Go darker.
Go lighter.
Cut it shorter.
Add more hair.
Put a fringe in.
Change the whole shape.
Start again.
And sometimes, yes, a bigger change is exactly right. But sometimes the thing that makes the difference is far more subtle.
A softer face frame.
A different tone.
More modern colour placement.
Lower-maintenance dimension.
A bit of density where the hair needs it.
A shape that works better with how you wear your hair now.
That is why I don’t think every hair decision should be rushed into as “let’s change everything”.
Because if we change the colour, the cut, the length, the shape and the whole feel of the hair all at once — and you still don’t feel right, how do we know what part was actually the issue?
Was it the colour?
The shape?
The length?
The weight?
The way it sits around your face?
Or was it that the route needed to be different from the start?
Hair has moved on. The options are not just “same again” or “complete overhaul”.
But more options don’t mean throwing every trend or technique at the hair either. The skill is knowing what’s possible, what’s suitable, what order to do things in, and what your hair can actually support.
That is the conversation I like having.
Not talking at you.
Not rushing you.
Not defaulting to the biggest service.
Working out what needs to change, what should stay, and what move makes sense first.

A blunt cut doesn’t mean you can’t have extensions or that they won’t blend.
But it does change the thinking.
Because with shorter, solid ends, the question isn’t just:
“Can we make this blend?”
It’s:
“Can we make this blend without compromising the natural hair, the placement, the discretion or how wearable the result is?”
That’s where the detail matters.
You can thin the natural hair to soften a line.
You can fit higher up the head to chase the blend.
You can add more hair to fill out the shape.
But every one of those decisions has a consequence.
Compromised bio hair? Please no hacking at it.
Detectable bonds? Not the aim.
A result that only behaves when it’s styled a certain way? Also no.
For me, the better question is always:
What gives the best result without asking the natural hair to do too much while keeping the extensions discreet?
That comes down to the method, the quality of hair, the colour match, the density, the placement, and being honest about what will actually work.
The goal was never just longer hair.
It was a result that looked considered, discreet and believable.

If you’ve ever wondered whether extensions would actually blend with your hair, comment BLEND and I’ll send over the 4 things I’d look at before deciding if they’re even the right route 🤍

Even hairdressers need their weave-a-weaving 👯

O&M COR restore. Always.
One of my most-used products in colour work, especially lightening services.
I use it with blonding, brightening, corrections, previous colour, fragile areas, transformation work, or simply when the hair needs a bit more TLC.
For me, it’s a non-negotiable part of considered colour work — helping to repair, protect and maintain the hair’s internal structure and integrity while the service is happening.
Always available in salon 🤍

No extensions. No heavy styling. No hiding.
Just colour that holds up from every angle, in every light.
Blonde isn’t about how it looks in one photo — it’s about what suits you, your skin, your lifestyle, and how your hair moves day to day.
This is a summer-ready refresh that still feels like her.
And considering for years prior psoriasis had completely disrupted the scalp and hair — this is about working with the hair, not against it. Thoughtful placement, controlled lift, and tone that supports the end result.
