Dermaplaning is a controlled treatment that uses a sterile blade to gently remove dead skin cells and fine vellus hair from the surface of the skin. It should be performed with precision, patience, and appropriate pressure not rushed for the sake of being “quick and efficient.”

A minor nick can occasionally occur, particularly when working on delicate or thinner areas of skin. However, repeated grazing, cuts, or visible trauma across the face should not be considered a normal part of the treatment.

When dermaplaning is performed incorrectly, the skin barrier can be compromised, increasing the risk of irritation, inflammation and potential infection.

𝙈𝙮 𝙎𝙠𝙞𝙣 𝙎𝙚𝙘𝙧𝙚𝙩𝙨 🫧

I get so many questions and compliments on my skin and I thought I would let you in on it what I use.

My skincare routine is all about keeping my skin healthy, hydrated and glowing.
I never go without an SPF tint, and I switch between La Roche Posay Cicaplast and the Anua Heartleaf Moisturiser, depending on what my skin needs or changes.

I also incorporate regular dermaplaning, love PDRN serums and collagen face masks, Microneedling when I have the time and can’t get enough of milky toners for that extra boost of hydration.

For a little extra exfoliation, I’ll occasionally reach for Medicube pad while Korean cleansers Dokoda is a staple in my routine but not every single day. A splash of cold water every day morning and night also helps with hydration levels. Retinol will be reintroduced once my skin is ready as it has changed over the past month.

And finally, I never leave the house without a good lip oil hydrated, glossy lips are a must! ✨

These photos were taken yesterday, showing my skin before, in the morning, and after, in the evening, following my dermaplaning treatment.
My skin was definitely ready for it. The weekend before, I had worn makeup for two consecutive days, which I don’t usually do, alongside a couple of gym sessions during the week.

It’s a great reminder that the better you care for your skin, the better the results will be. Consistent skincare, preparation and aftercare all play an important role in maintaining healthy, smooth and radiant looking skin. ✨

Last year, I attended my first North East Beauty Awards and was absolutely thrilled to be named a finalist. I was incredibly proud to have made it that far. Although I didn’t place, simply being recognised alongside so much incredible talent within our industry was an achievement in itself.

This year, I made the decision to put more focus into training, perfecting my work, developing my skills and improving my content and that hard work paid off. I attended the Uk Hair and beauty awards earlier last week and I’m so proud to have placed in two categories this year.

It’s a reminder that you should never stop learning, improving or believing in yourself. You never know where that commitment will take you.

And to my amazing clients please never feel that you have to book with me every month. I’m genuinely grateful whenever you choose to invest in me and my business, even if that’s just once in a while. I completely understand that everyone has different financial commitments and priorities.
