Please welcome Dr Sam Eden to the team!
Dr Sam brings a rare combination of extensive general practice experience and dermatological expertise to The Lodsworth Clinic. Having initially trained and worked as a GP, he then pursued his passion specialising in all things skin; now working as a Dermatology Associate Specialist within the NHS, as well privately here in Haslemere with us!
This background as a GP means Sam has a deep understanding of the connection between general health, psychological wellbeing and the skin, and he brings this whole-person philosophy to every consultation.
For anyone who knows our approach at TLC, you will understand how that fits with our ethos. We are not simply about a waiting list / any practitioner / a rushed appointment / then left to your own devices. We believe in holistic care without the wait. Individual care, with ongoing support. Personalised to you.

Worried hormonal contraception affects your future fertility? Let’s clear this up👇
Hormonal contraception - the pill, patch, hormonal coil (IUD) and implant - works by pausing ovulation, thinning the uterus lining and altering the cervical mucus: just while you’re using it. It doesn’t use up your eggs, damage your ovaries, or reduce your fertility long-term.
For most women, ovulation and normal cycles return quickly once you stop, and there’s no need to “clear it out of your system” first.
The one exception: the contraceptive injection can delay your return to fertility by several months after your last dose, even though the effect isn’t permanent. Worth knowing if you’re planning ahead.
Every body is different, so if you’re thinking about stopping contraception to try to conceive - or just want to understand your options - it’s worth talking it through with a specialist who knows your history.
