‘Frosting’ or whitening of the tattoo pigment is the reaction caused by the laser penetrating the ink.

𝗪𝗛𝗔𝗧 𝗖𝗔𝗨𝗦𝗘𝗦 ❄️𝗙𝗥𝗢𝗦𝗧𝗜𝗡𝗚❄️?
The laser heats the ink pigment, which creates gas bubbles. This gas rises to the surface of the skin and is released in the form of carbon dioxide. Whilst this might look a little alarming, there is no cause for concern.

We want to see the frosting because this means the laser has penetrated the ink and the body is already going through the healing process.

The frosting is only temporary and doesn’t last very long. In fact, in most cases only lasts for 10-15 minutes.

You are most likely to see significant frosting in the earlier sessions, and this reduces with each following session.
This is because each time we are treating the tattoo, we are dealing with lesser ink than before, therefore not as much frosting.

It’s important to note that not all colours cause frosting, and this is because not all colours react to the laser in the same way.

Hello my lovely followers! It’s been a while so I thought I would reintroduce myself for all of you who don’t know me;

I’m Claire Lippiatt, the name behind the face of APPEAR NATURAL AESTHETICS.

I became a Laser practitioner in 2019 & started my business working from home. In July 2020 I joined forces with my partner Ollie Hughes (founder of Appear Natural) and we opened our beautiful clinic in Hayes, Bromley.

I have since trained in Cryotherapy; an amazing treatment no longer available on your NHS for the removal of skin lesions using nitrous oxide.

You may experience swelling, erythema (redness of the skin), pin point bleeding & mild discomfort - all of these are extremely common reactions & should subside within a week.

A small number of clients also experience blistering in the days following a laser session, again this is a perfectly normal reaction. It is a great indication that your body is working to heal the area. Specific aftercare must be followed to avoid complications or issues with blisters.

I always provide detailed aftercare advice which if followed correctly will ensure your skin heals to its maximum potential & in turn will lead to beautiful, ink free skin.

I’m always fascinated seeing the skin’s immediate reaction to the laser right before my eyes, it really is such an amazing organ 🙌🏼

My lovely client suffered for years with 60+ skin tags on each underarm. It really affected her confidence, especially in the summer & she was wasn’t comfortable to wear sleeveless tops.
Just ONE session of cryotherapy & all skin tags have been removed… a very happy customer with a new found confidence 🤍
