I was going to come on here and give you all a life update but after typing it all out I looks like too much of a sob story and I can't stand that 😂

So I'll keep it short and sweet, seizure meds didn't go well. I've been in hospital since 15th December. I was hoping to slowly return to work in the new year but unfortunately the recovery from this condition is going to take months and there's honestly no way of knowing what life is going to look like or what long term damage I'll be living with.

I can't quite believe I'm saying this but for now, for the first time in almost 10 years The Island Lash Co is on hiatus. I can't say for how long, but I promise I'll be back.

I love and miss you all SO much and appreciate every single message and check in whilst you've kept me all in your thoughts. I really do have the most wonderful clients, your all like family to me and I cannot wait for the mother of all catch ups when I return!

I'm going to start off by lightening the mood with a picture of me in my unofficial Gig Goggles which have become my saviour during gigs lately ✌🏻😂

First of all.. I'm so sorry for the radio silence over the last few weeks. I apologise for not getting back to you all yet, but please know your DM's and messages have kept me going during the toughest of days.

I'm not quite ready to explain what's happened and I don't know if I ever will. However, most of you know I have been suffering with seizures for the last year and a half. You have all been so supportive of how my life has changed and the cutbacks I've had to make to my working week.

The last 6 weeks, I've been trying to recover from the worst experiences my seizures have put me through. But I am SO glad to say, I'm finally on anti seizure meds 🥹

As much as this is the best news I could have asked for and what I've been wishing for all this time, I'm aware it's not an instant fix. Adjusting to this new medication has been tough and with my dose gradually increasing over the next 6 weeks it's not going to get any easier. But I know I want to be the best I can be for myself, my family and my business. So that means continuing to recover and taking things slow.

As things stand, I'm going to take the rest of the year off to process what's happened, adjust to new medication and work on what life now looks like for me. I can't promise I will be back to work straight away in the New Year but I do promise to keep you all updated when I am ready to return.

Taking extended time off is so scary as a self employed business owner and after having to take last Christmas off to recover from my hysterectomy this is honestly the last place I wanted to be for a second year in a row.

This is the most words I've had in my head for the last 6 weeks so I'm going to leave it here 😂 I promise I will get back to you all when I am able too. I hope you all have the best festive period EVER and I cannot wait for all the squishy hugs when I see you again.

I haven't screamed my return to work from the rooftops because I am taking things slowly. I'm still very much in the recovery stage of surgery and not 101% but I am so glad to be getting back into the swing of things.

However I am loving seeing you all and have missed everyone SO much 🫶🏼
