Level 4 Sports & Remedial Massage Therapist Sports Injury Treatments
Bodymaster Method Practitioner
A good therapist isn't the one who tries to fix everything. They're the one who knows when they shouldn't.
One of the biggest misconceptions in our industry is that the best therapist is the one with all the answers.
In reality, the best outcomes come from therapists who have a deep understanding of anatomy, biomechanics and movement, who carry out thorough assessments, and who know when a problem falls outside their scope of practice.
Sometimes the best treatment isn't another massage or soft tissue session. Sometimes it's referring a client for imaging, to a physiotherapist, osteopath, sports medicine consultant, or another healthcare professional. Knowing when to refer isn't a weakness in my opinion , it's a sign of experience, confidence, and professionalism.
For the past 16 years, I've dedicated my career to developing those assessment skills as an experienced Soft Tissue Therapist and Bodymaster Method Practitioner. My goal has never been to simply treat symptoms it's to understand why they're there and guide each client towards the best possible outcome, even if that means another professional is the right next step.
The trust my clients place in me has resulted in a consistently fully booked clinic, and I never take that for granted.
At the end of the day, it's not about proving how much you know. It's about doing what's right for the person in front of you. Some clients can try to push you or dictate the situation because they are paying you but again this is where the professional and experienced therapist becomes more respected by not being pushed or bullied into something that could potentially be unsafe for the client and risk the therapists reputation!
The client's outcome should always come before the therapist's ego.
Have a great day everyone π

Hip Pain? Try These Simple Stretches & Mobility Exercisesπ£
If your hips feel stiff, tight, or achy, these gentle exercises can help improve mobility and ease muscle tension.
β¨ 1. Hip Swings
Hold onto a chair or wall for balance.
β’ Swing one leg forwards and backwards 10β15 times.
β’ Then swing it side to side 10β15 times.
Repeat on the other leg.
2. Hip Flexor Stretch
Step into a lunge with one knee on the floor.
Gently push your hips forwards until you feel a stretch at the front of your hip.
Hold for 20β30 seconds on each side.
3. Figure 4 (Piriformis) Stretch
Lie on your back and cross one ankle over the opposite knee.
Pull the supporting leg towards your chest until you feel a stretch in your buttock.
Hold for 20β30 seconds each side.
Gentle movement is often better than complete rest for many types of hip stiffness. Move within a comfortable range and stop if your pain increases or you notice sharp pain.
If your hip pain has been lingering for weeks, is affecting your daily activities, or you're unsure what's causing it, we'd be happy to assess it and help you get moving comfortably again.

π **Good morning!** π
A little reminder to check in with your body today...
Are you waking up feeling:
β¨ Stiff?
β¨ Achy?
β¨ Tired even after a full night's sleep?
We often put these things down to "just getting older," but they don't have to become your normal. Small aches and pains are your body's way of asking for a little attention before they become bigger problems.
Whether it's a sports massage, deep tissue treatment, or simply taking time to stretch and move, investing in your body today can make a huge difference to how you feel tomorrow.
π¬ What's one area that always seems to hold tension for you? Neck, shoulders, lower back, or somewhere else? Let me know in the comments!
Wishing everyone a happy, healthy Wednesday! π

π© Do you wake up with lower back pain every morning?
If your first few steps out of bed feel stiff, sore or like your back needs "warming up", you're not alone.
The mistake many people make is assuming they just need a stronger mattress or that it's "just old age."
Often, that's not the real reason.
Morning back pain can be caused by: β
Tight hips pulling on the lower back. β
Stiff joints after lying in one position all night. β
Weak core and glute muscles. β
Poor movement patterns during the day.
The good news? It can often be improved with the right assessment and treatment.
Don't ignore it and hope it goes away. The longer you compensate, the more other areas of your body can start to ache.
I assess the cause of your pain rather than just treating the symptoms.
If you're waking up every morning with lower back pain, send me a message with the word "BACK" and I'll let you know whether I think I can help.
π Have you ever woken up with lower back pain? Let me know in the comments.
