🌻 Welcome to August! 🌻

A new month brings new opportunities for fun, friendship, and fantastic experiences. Our 1st week of August Activity Planner and Menu are now ready, packed with exciting activities and tasty meals for everyone to enjoy.

We hope this month brings happiness, good health, and plenty of reasons to smile.

Its Friday already 😐 the weeks are going so quickly.

Today we played a game of musical bingo which is always so much fun. It brings back memories for our residents 🥰.

David said that his mother used to sing Danny Boy to him when he was a boy 💙

We had 4 winners overall Roger, Claire, Sheila and Janice.

In the afternoon we welcomed Jon Mcdevitt to play his guitar and sing for us.

🏆 July ACE Award Winner: Linda 🏆

We are delighted to announce that Linda has been named our ACE Award winner for July!

As one of our valued General Assistants, Linda is an incredible asset to the home. She knows our residents so well, always remembers their preferences, and is a go-to source of knowledge and support for her colleagues.

Linda's positive attitude, caring nature, and wonderful sense of humour make a real difference every day. She brings smiles, laughter, and warmth to every shift, helping to create a happy environment for both residents and the team.

Congratulations, Linda, and thank you for all that you do. We are so lucky to have you as part of our team! 🌟

Residents had a restful time out on the verranda this afternoon, catching up with relatives and generally taking it easy in the warm shade.

Sheila, Claire and Janice made beautiful bracelets this morning from the
myriad of beads we have have tucked away at Oakwood Court. Well done ladies!!

Today we had a very conpetitive game of darts 🎯 residents tried so hard to get the bullseye, with many succeeding.

This brought so many smiles and laughter as we clapped to the success ☺️.

Janice was our winner overall and she was thrilled 🥰. Everyone did so well and had fun 😁.

Claire, Janice, Marjorie, Myra and Lesley gathered on the patio this morning, looking very swish in their summer hats, to sew some flower seeds into pots ready for germinating and blooming!! Everyone did a stirling job.

Sheila joined the group to watch, after her time in the hair salon with Suzanne, sporting her lovely new hairdo.

We had a jam packed day at Oakwood today. In the morning residents brought all their energy to music and movement. We exercised and danced to all kinds of well known tunes and made up our own dance steps aswell.

In the afternoon residents Joyce Janice Roger and Jophene had a challenging but fun game of scrabble.

Residents engaged in a sensory activity this morning, trying to guess the flavours of crisp🍅🧀🥩🌶🍋‍🟩🥭🌽🥕🧅🤔
They also learnt about the history of crisps, some fun crisp facts and we held a poll to see which flavour came out top at Oakwood Court. The winner was cheese and onion, closely followed by ready salted 😋

It was clear to see the benefits that Millie the Pet Therapy dog brings to the residents when Claire brings her in to see everyone🐾🥰
Big smiles greeted Millie and she had a wonderfully calming effect on all who had a cuddle. She's such a good dog,especially with so many tasty treats around! 🍪😋
Lovely carer, Juliet, is a firm favourite of Millie's - perhaps its to do with the treat bag she carries around with her 🤔😂🥰
