A frequent question I'm asked during my skincare consultations....

During the day bacteria and irritants build up on the surface of your skin, this can include air pollutants from vehicle exhausts, people coughing or sneezing, aerosols, steam from cooking, even droplets of water from a toilet flush become airborne and can settle on your face! Yuck!

Touching your face is another way these pesky contaminents reach your skin.

Whilst they're not visible, they're there and leaving them on your skin overnight will only irritate it and disrupt your skin's ability to thrive. They cause a reaction skin known as oxidation which releases free radicals within your skin. Free radicals are the bad guys, they attack your cells and cause all sorts of problems.

Think of it like this, your skin is like a beautiful forest, nature does it's job perfectly until you throw in a little deforestation or water contamination, suddenly the forest has to work harder to replace what's been damaged and this distraction causes an imbalance and takes away from the forest's ability to do it's normal job. The result? You know the how that story goes.

Your skin is constantly fighting infection and rejuvenating itself. That's it's job. The more you support this function the better your skin will be at keeping breakouts, lines and wrinkles and all other skin concerns at bay!

Washing your face morning and evening is the first and best step towards caring for your skin and maintaining a healthy glowing complexion.
