**Manual Lymphatic Drainage is now available**

I am pleased to introduce Manual Lymphatic Drainage treatments for both **surgical and non-surgical needs**, alongside scar-management support.

MLD is a light, slow and rhythmical treatment that supports the body’s natural lymphatic flow. Unlike traditional massage, it does not involve deep pressure and can be particularly suitable for clients who prefer a gentler, calming treatment.

**Non-surgical MLD may help support:**

• Facial or general puffiness
• Heavy or tired-feeling limbs
• Post-travel fluid retention
• Gentle tissue comfort
• Relaxation and nervous-system calming
• Clients who are sensitive to deeper pressure

**Pre and post-operative MLD may help support:**

• Swelling, bruising and tissue congestion
• Feelings of tightness or heaviness
• Comfort throughout recovery
• Natural fluid movement following surgery
• Scar and tissue mobility as healing progresses

I also offer a complete **Pre- and Post-Operative Surgery Plan**, including:

✓ A detailed pre-treatment consultation
✓ Three pre-operative MLD sessions
✓ Ten individually adapted post-operative sessions
✓ Scar-management support introduced at the appropriate stage of healing

Post-operative treatments are always adapted to your procedure, recovery stage and surgeon’s aftercare instructions. Medical or surgical clearance may be required before treatment begins.

Not sure which option is right for you? Book a **free 20-minute telephone or video consultation** so we can discuss your circumstances and establish whether surgical or non-surgical MLD is appropriate.

For more information visit: www.amberlouisemassage.com

or; message me to find out more or arrange your free consultation.

*New, unexplained, sudden or worsening swelling should always be medically assessed before treatment.*

Coming soon on the 1st August to Amber Louise Clinical Soft Tissue Therapy

I am really pleased to share that I will soon be adding Manual Lymphatic Drainage Massage to my treatment options.

Manual Lymphatic Drainage is a gentle, rhythmic treatment designed to support the lymphatic system and encourage healthy fluid movement within the body.

It can be a great option for clients who need a lighter, calmer approach to treatment, and may be suitable for concerns such as swelling, fluid retention, heaviness, post-treatment recovery needs, scar reduction or general nervous system support.

I will also be providing specialist treatment in Manual Lymphatic Drainage for pre and post-operative surgery, which will allow me to offer more focused support for suitable clients following surgery, including cosmetic or reconstructive procedures, once it is safe and medically appropriate.

As with all treatments, this will be carried out with care, clinical reasoning and appropriate screening. Post-operative clients may need medical clearance before treatment.

I’m really excited to bring this into the clinic as part of my wider clinical soft tissue therapy approach.

Neurodivergent-Aware Soft Tissue Therapy

Massage does not have to be “one size fits all”.
Some clients need a different approach to soft tissue therapy, especially when there is a combination of:

▫️ADHD, autism or AuDHD
▫️Hypermobility
▫️Sensory sensitivity
▫️Chronic muscle tension
▫️Poor proprioception/body awareness
▫️Nervous system overwhelm
▫️Feeling tight but also unstable
▫️Difficulty fully relaxing during treatment

For some people, firm pressure is calming.
For others, it can feel too much.
Some clients need less talking.
Some need more explanation.
Some need careful positioning to protect hypermobile joints.
Some need slower work before their body feels safe enough to soften.

At Amber Louise Clinical Soft Tissue Therapy, treatment is adapted to the individual.
This may include:

▫️Slower, calmer treatment
▫️Pressure adapted to sensory needs
▫️Clear communication before and during treatment
▫️Supported positioning for comfort and joint safety
▫️Gentler work around sensitive or reactive areas
▫️Clinical soft tissue techniques used with care
▫️Aftercare that is realistic and manageable

As someone who is AuDHD and hypermobile myself, this is an area I care deeply about. I understand how different touch, pressure, sound, light, positioning and communication can feel when the nervous system is already working hard.
This is not about forcing muscles to “release”.
It is about helping the body feel safer, calmer and better supported.

Neck and Shoulder Pain

Neck and shoulder pain is one of the most common complaints I treat in clinic.

Common Causes:
🔴 Prolonged desk work
🔴 Forward head position
🔴 Stress & jaw clenching
🔴 Driving long distances
🔴 Cycling posture & rounded shoulders
🔴 Weak mid-back muscles with overactive upper traps
🔴 Unresolved injury

How I treat it:

✅ Cervical and Thoracic Assesment
✅ Active/Passive range of motion testing
✅ Orthopaedic testing where appropriate
✅ Soft tissue release
✅ Deep tissue & trigger point therapy
✅ Musle Energy Techniques (MET)
✅ Scapular stability advice
✅ Rehabilitation/progressive loading exercises

The goal isn’t just relief - it’s correcting the underlying driver

If your neck feels heavy, your shoulders are permanently “up by your ears,” or your getting tension headaches …it’s time to address the cause.
