Is Your Extension Stylist Safe?
PICTURE OF AN UNSAFE FITTING: SO MUCH WRONG IN JUST ONE SECTION .
5 Questions That Prove They Know the Science
You’ve seen the gorgeous "after" photos on socials but what happens in the weeks and months later?
In 2026, certified doesn't always mean safe.
If you are sitting in a chair for a consultation and it feels like they are just trying to sell you hair, walk away. Here is how you recognise a stylist who has been educated in Hair Integrity™:
1. Do they ask about your medical history?
A safe specialist needs to know if you’ve had recent surgeries, high stress, or changes in medication. If they don't ask about your health, they can't know if your hair is strong enough to hold the weight.
2. Do they discuss your "Shedding Cycle"?
We all lose hair daily. A trained specialist will ask about your normal shedding rate. If they don't understand your natural cycle, they might apply extensions to hair that is about to fall out, causing "clumping" and damage.
3. Do they mention Different systems because
There is no one system fits all in safety. Your stylist should be looking at your natural hair to decide how much weight it can carry. If they use the same systems on everyone and some are loaded your follicles are at risk.
4. Is there a Long-Term Plan for your scalp?
A great stylist isn't just thinking about today. They should be talking about maintenance windows (usually 6–8 weeks) If they tell you that you can wear them indefinitely without a break or check-up, they are prioritising profit over your protection.
5. The "Tension Test"
Extensions should NEVER hurt. Not during the fit, and not the next day. If your stylist says "it’s normal for it to be tight for a few days," they don't understand the physics of tension.
The Bottom Line:
Don't be a "one-day wonder" victim. Look for the stylist who cares more about your Integrity than your inches.

We need to talk about what’s happening to our art. 💔
I’ve been in this profession for 36 years, with the last 26 years dedicated specifically to the art of hair extensions. I’m speaking up today because I’m fed up.
How is it okay that someone with ZERO hair qualifications can take a one-day course and be given a "ticket" to go out and potentially destroy someone’s hair?
I see the aftermath every single week. Permanent scarring, bald patches, and broken confidence. This isn't "bad luck"—it’s a lack of science. 🧪
Hair extensions are an ART, but they are also PHYSICS. If you don't understand how a follicle grows or how much weight a single strand can actually hold, you shouldn't be near a client’s head.
To the brands selling these "fast-track" dreams to the untrained: You are part of the problem. You are putting profit before the person in the chair.
My mission with the Hair Integrity Academy™ has always been about one thing: PRESERVATION. I want to see a world where your "extension specialist" actually understands your hair's biology—from the first consultation to the final removal.
Let’s bring the integrity back to our industry. Our clients deserve better, and our passion deserves more respect. ✊✨
Stylists—have you seen the "one-day wonder" damage in your salon? Let’s talk about it in the comments. 👇

STOP PAYING THE "CHEAP FIX" TAX. 💸
I’m rarely a client's first choice. I am usually their last resort.
Why? Because in an unregulated industry, "cheap" hair systems fitted by uneducated stylists end up costing you twice. You pay for the damage, and then you pay a specialist to fix it.
I’ve just released a new blog post breaking down the Hair Extension Science & Theory™ approach to hair restoration. This isn't just "adding hair"—it’s a clinical action plan to protect your scalp health and restore your confidence.
In this blog, I reveal:
✅ Why "fitter" education is failing the industry.
✅ The mechanical physics of a safe vs. dangerous fitting.
✅ How to spot the red flags before the damage is done.

Cheap fittings cost more than money — they cost your hair. In "The 'Fix-It' Tax," Emma Dickinson exposes why uneducated stylists do more harm than good and how proper science-backed fittings protect your natural hair. The "Fix-It" Tax"I am rarely a client's first choice. I am usually their last resort."In this industry, you get what you pay for—but when you choose a cheap hair system fitted by an uneducated stylist "Stop letting 'fitters' gamble with your hair integrity." 🛑This image is exactly why I’m fighting for higher standards in the hair market. Extensions have such a bad name in most of the publics opinion.
I am set on making changes within the industry to help educate stylist and technician.Where most hair companies only sell hair ,instal and removal. i have put my 30 years of knowledge into hair extension science and theory. Copywriting , trade marking and licensing this course to bring it to the extension industry.Raising the standards international to stop making traction alopecia and scalp damage normal.
From Criticism to Creation Campaigning for Safer Practice. For a long time, I was vocal on social media about the bad practices I saw in the hair extension industry. I’ll be the first to admit—I was a complete "Karen" about it. To anyone I may have offended during that time: I apologise. But my frustration came from a place of passion. I was tired of se...
