July bride #2

This was a special one for me as I actually met back in 2021 via an app when we were both pregnant and due within 2 weeks of each other. We regularly see one another on a Sunday where our little ones train in the same football academy.

Abbie first came to me back in December 2024 wanting some support with her skin leading up to her big day. Abbie was concerned with uneven texture, clogged and congested pores, milia and rosacea flare ups.

Through a series of chemical peels I think it’s clear to see that we, with a lot of consistency and dedication from Abbie and an at home routine, were able to better her skin and get it glowing for her wedding. Look at the difference in those pictures 😍

Finishing off with a dermaplane the week of her wedding and make up done by the talented it’s obvious that Abbie made the most stunning bride and her photos just blew me away.

Oh No!…..Dermaplaning will make my hair grow back darker and thicker 🤦🏼‍♀️

If this was the case I’d have every man and his dog in my clinic getting their head and face shaved to promote hair regrowth and eradicate hair loss issues 😂🤷🏼‍♀️ if only it was that easy.

Your skin has two main types of hair follicle: Vellus and Terminal.

Vellus hair is the very light coloured, short and fine hair, also know as peach fuzz - this is the hair targeted by a dermaplaning facial. Terminal hair is dark coloured, thick and coarse.

Terminal hair cannot be created by shaving your face otherwise I’d be rich 😂

Terminal hair on the face is due to a variety of factors such as hormone changes (like puberty and PCOS), medication (some steroids can trigger this type of hair growth), your genetics (if your mum or nana/grandma get them then you’re likely to also!), aging and high androgen levels (our s*x hormones).

During a dermaplane the vellus hair is removed with a medical grade scalpel. If you have some terminal hairs then these will be removed also. But dermaplaning DOES NOT cause more terminal hairs to grow or appear. If you start to notice more terminal hairs on your face then this will be due to the factors outlined above.

Dermaplaning is a fantastic facial for those who want to remove congested and built up skin, want an instant and smoother complexion and is perfect just before an event as it allows your pores to absorb all products fully and your makeup will sit beautifully 👌🏻

And whatever you do, PLEASE do not ‘dermaplane’ yourself at home with shop bought blades. They will cause micro tears in your skin and your skin barrier will be screaming at you to stop. More to follow on this one 🤍

July Bride #1 😍

came to me wanting help to decongest her skin and support with extractions leading up to her big day in Ibiza.

✨ Milia Extraction ✨

Milia are small white hard cysts under the skin due to a build up of keratin protein or dead skin.

Milia are harmless and can happen to a lot of people. But unfortunately they can be irritating and knock people’s self esteem with their appearance and quantity’s.

To help prevent/reduce milia, gentle exfoliation or the use of a retinoid can be beneficial at home alongside regular professional treatments with a skin specialist.

Milia can be reoccurring and sometimes professional extraction is needed to remove these if the client wishes.

This beautiful bride to be wanted milia removing on both sides of her face, around her eye area. With the proper techniques, equipment and patience, we managed to get rid of these and my client couldn’t be happier 😍

Consistency is key or don’t bother ✨👇🏻

Facials are an important monthly self care not only for your physical health but also for your mental health. But one isn’t going to change your life 🤷🏼‍♀️

You wouldn’t go to the gym and expect one session to change your physique or one meditation practice to change your mental health, and the same goes for your skin.

Daily habits. This is where the change really happens. Consistency with your skincare both AM and PM, your diet, your sleep pattern, the way you try to heal your skin barrier or sabotage it by not using SPF and picking your spots etc.
