I’M BACK!!!
Thank you all SO much for all the well wishes after my “dramatic” surgery the other week. My recovery has been incredibly uneventful and I’m back to my regular hours in the shop. In a few weeks time I’ll be reverting my appointment timings back to what they used to be as I will then be back up to full fighting force 💪🏻👌🏻😁

I’ve run my own business for 14 years, but raising these 2 has been my greatest achievement! They were in primary school when I started Gateway Barbers so they have grown up in the shop with me. Now you can put faces to the names when I tell you about my kids. I talk about them quite a lot, and that’s because they are my favourite people in the whole entire world ❤️❤️

A little update from me ❤️

The good news is — the gallbladder is finally gone! 🎉

Unfortunately, the surgery turned out to be a little trickier than originally expected, which means my recovery needs to be taken more seriously than I’d hoped.

I’ve been told that I need to take two full weeks away from work, and after that I’ll need to gently ease myself back in, rather than jumping straight back into a full diary.

I know this means that some of you are having appointments cancelled — again — and I am genuinely so sorry.

After waiting since October for this surgery, I’d hoped that once it was finally done I could recover quickly and get straight back behind the chair. My body, however, has apparently decided it has other ideas! 🙄😂

As frustrating as it is, I need to listen to the people who know better than me and give myself the time to heal properly. The last thing I want is to push too hard, set my recovery back and end up being away from work for even longer.

If your appointment is affected, I will be in touch.
When I do return, I’ll initially be working a reduced diary and building things back up gradually.

Please bear with me while I figure out exactly what that looks like.

And most importantly — thank you.

Thank you for the messages, the kindness, the patience and the genuine concern you’ve shown me. I know I say this often, but Gateway Barbers has never felt like just customers coming in for haircuts.

I’m incredibly lucky to have the bunch of humans that I do. ❤️

For now, I’m under strict instructions to rest, recover and not be a stubborn idiot about it.

IMPORTANT

As many of you are aware, I’ve been waiting for a date to have my gallbladder removed since October last year.
Unfortunately today I had to be taken to hospital via ambulance, and instead of me having a few weeks notice to sort things out ready for surgery, I’m how having to have emergency surgery tomorrow morning.

So for anyone that has an appointment booked with me this week, I’m so sorry, I will have to cancel it. My plan is to take 1 week off work to recover and then come back to work on reduced hours, slowly building back up to full time after that.

I apologise for the inconvenience, it’s inconveniencing me too 🤦🏼‍♀️, but health is health and we all must put that above anything else.

The main road from the M40 in Stokenchurch going to Wycombe/Oxford Road is currently closed for re surfacing. Getting to the salon by car is near on impossible so please plan your journey and allow time to walk in from outside the road closure.
This is in place for the rest of the week and is causing utter chaos for local businesses, residents and the medical center. If you cannot make your appointment due to this please call or message me and I’ll get you booked in next week when everything has gone back to normal!

Hey! Long time no see! I’ve been a busy lady and I also forget to post content because, well, I’m human 😂

I have a question though!
If I were to offer colouring and perming services, would you book it?
I’m fully qualified in all of the above, have been for years. I’ve just not offered it before as it’s not really been something men have wanted, but I’m increasingly getting people ask me, so I figured I ask you guys if it’s something I should be adding to my services?

It’s hot. Like, HOT, hot. I’m a big fan of hot weather and as much as I’m melting, I’m also LOVING this heat 🥰
But I also know a lot of my customer struggle with temperatures like this!
So rest assured, the salon is fully air conditioned and will be lovely and cool when you arrive for your haircut this week 😁
I’m back in the salon tomorrow having fully recovered from a weekend at scout camp 😂
