Been a bit quiet on here lately! Life’s been crazy busy, I’ve barely taken any nail photos and it was my birthday weekend 🖤

So naturally I spent it moshing, crowd surfing and being a typical goth hiding in the shade whenever the sun came out 🤣🤣

But I’m finally back with these loud, chaotic, graffiti-inspired beauties 💖⚡️
Hot pink, smileys, grunge splatter, these feel like a mix of rave culture, doodles in the back of your school book and early MTV energy ⚡️🖤

On Monday 11th May I spent the day at Stockport College competing in the practical finals for Scratch Stars, where I was 1 of just 5 finalists for Mixed Media Nail Artist of the Year.✨

I’ve hesitated about sharing this piece. After the competition I came away feeling pretty disheartened, things went wrong on the day that had never happened in practice, and I made a fairly major boo-boo that could have cost me some serious points… maybe even disqualified the piece altogether. 😅

But so many of you have been asking to see it… sooooo here it is. 🖤

And after giving myself a bit of time to reflect… I actually really love what I created.

The theme was Football World Cup, which, if you know me, was definitely outside my comfort zone! I’m not exactly a football fan (I don’t think I’ve ever watched a full match in my life 🤣), so at first I had absolutely no idea where to take it.

I knew whatever I created still had to feel like me… hence all the colour, movement, and a little bit of chaos thrown in. 🌍⚽🌈

The other competitors created some absolutely incredible pieces, each one completely different and inspiring in its own way.

Whatever happens now, being chosen as a finalist is something I’m genuinely so proud of. Win or lose… this already feels like a huge achievement. 🖤✨

Black French tips will forever be a firm favourite of mine 🖤

Black nails are just stunning in my personal opinion, full colour or French, then again, I do have a slight obsession with all things dark, moody, and gothy… so nobody’s surprised 🖤✨

Who else will never get bored of black nails?

Pigments were popular last week in the salon. Here I've used a yellow and pastel pink eyeshadow burnished over a n**e pink, finished with a milky white top coat!

Milky top coat by .gelsystem is my new fave thing to use!

I call these silver squiggly lines SpongeBob sky flowers 😝✨

So if you ever sit in my chair and say, “Can I get the SpongeBob sky flowers?”… I’ll know exactly what you mean 🤣🖤

I hope you're all having a nice weekend. This client certainly is. She's spending the weekend in the city Zermatt, the real life night court from the ACOTAR book series.
The black swirls were inspired by Feyre and Rhysands tattoos, then we finished off with some star stickers and a flash top coat to represent the starry sky!!
