My names is Phil, I am from Swindon but I trained as a barber in Shoreditch, London. Originally known as the #thebeardedbarberuk (the UK bit in nod to the O.G. Soon became apparent Out Of Step was the actual shop name. A reference to the Minor Threat song and my #straightedge allegiance since age 18 (teetotal). I became the first shop in my hometown to offer a dedicated #beard shape and trim service, incorporating hot towel shaving. The first to offer a badass shop logo, quickly following with merch designed by the same chap that exclusively works with A Day To Remember, Ice Nine Kills, Pierce The Veil among many others. I ran my own shop within Battleground Fitness from 2014-2022 one of the very first barbers in the country to jump on the sublet in a gym trend. I now cut from home & mobile when time allows; where my other clothing line and record label ( @loyaltyanddevotion ) & photography businesses are steadily growing also. I cut hair and beards for my favourite pop-punk bands, Four Year Strong, A Loss For Words, Set Your Goals, Boston Manor, members of Sleeping Giant / xDeathstarx & at festivals like Download (VIP) & Jera On Air (Holland). cut hair in Salt Lake City and basically anywhere I travel. Every cut has a process, from shaving in the first line (top left) to blending the hair in stages before finally chopping and styling at the end (bottom right).

Hey you crazy lot from September moving forwards I will be available all day on Wednesdays again for bookings.
My new hours will be Tuesday, Wednesday & Friday 10-7pm & Saturday 9-4pm.
Childcare is a wonderful thing and I still get two full days to do that in the week. As well as working more for you all; well extra availability anyway 😀

Holiday notice
Hey everyone I am having some time off in August and will be on holiday between Tues 11th August until Thurs 20th August.
