As the year is about to change so is ohtooth.

After careful consideration, our website will be closed at 4pm on Friday, December 20th until further notice. The last 3 years has been full of spreading awareness for plastic free, sustainable, oral health products and connecting with so many like-minded people.

With that being said I will still be here to connect but behind the scenes I will be taking time to focus on other priorities and brainstorm about the future of ohtooth.

Hey there! I’m so glad you found my page and I hope you will join me in my efforts to reduce all the waste that comes with oral hygiene products.

Here’s a little back story on how I got started 🦷

A few years ago I often found myself frustrated at being unable to buy professional standard, eco- friendly, oral hygiene products for me and my family. This led to the idea of creating my own. My business idea for Oh Tooth was developed with support from some very knowledgeable and creative friends. We launched our first eco-friendly dental product in September 2022.

This is how Oh Tooth’s best selling product, Mellow Mint Toothpaste Tablets was created.

During the Belfast marathon, I tossed two small water bottles to the pavement as I huffed and puffed my way through my 5-something miles.​​​​​​​​​For years, I’ve been trying to reduce my waste.​​​​​​​​​We used reusable nappies/diapers for our two kids- with the odd disposable nappy when travelling call.
We used reusable cotton wipes.
We try our best to carry water bottles
We have started using toothpaste tablets in recyclable bags.
But, we also take a transatlantic flight every few years.
And we also buy fruit in plastic containers. Crisps in plastic bags, smoothies in plastic bottles and sometimes olive oil in plastic bottles…

There’s no doubt it’s easy to make the wrong choice when it comes to the environment and our waste.
But the pollution of our oceans with plastic, and baby wipes is about me.

I picked up this little book at Castle Epse this weekend. It made me stop and rethink my responsibility to our planet. My responsibility as a human being is to this beautiful planet.
This little book made me stop, remembering that improving our planet's health- its wildlife and marine life- will improve our health as humans and sustain and nourish our children's lives.

Here’s my one take away point:

- Stop buying plastic bottles, whether it’s water or olive oil or smoothies. Olive oil comes in glass bottles and I can make smoothies from fruit. Still working out what to do about milk…
