✨ LET’S TALK SCALP BLEACH ✨

I know… bleach directly on the scalp sounds scary 😅
But let me break it down for you 👇

Every client is different, and every client has their own hair history and goals. As a professional, it’s my job to choose the safest process possible to achieve the best lift while keeping the hair healthy.

🚨 Let’s clear something up:
SCALP BLEACH DOES NOT DAMAGE YOUR HAIR when it’s done correctly 👏

A proper scalp bleach is NOT a rushed 20-minute application job ⏰
A safe, even application should take around 2 hours minimum.

Here’s why ⬇️

✨ I work in thin, precise sections
✨ Starting from the back for an even lift
✨ Every strand is fully saturated
✨ NO overlapping 🙅‍♀️

The ONLY time I overlapped during this process was to gently lift an old band already in the hair using a very low strength mix (3% peroxide + a small amount of bleach) on WET hair 💧

For the scalp area, I always use 6% peroxide for a slow, controlled, even lift 🤍
Slow lift = healthier hair + less scalp irritation 🙌

⚠️ Bleach is a natural irritant, so
✔️ Slight redness can be normal
✔️ A mild tingling sensation is normal

What is NOT normal ❌
• Blisters
• Sores
• Burns

This is why knowledge, technique, and patience matter so much when it comes to blonding 🧠✨

As we’re all aware, this week’s beautiful heatwave is bringing all the summer essentials… sweaty everything, hair up in a bun, “it’s too hot” complaints, sold out BBQ food, and strap marks 🤣

For everyone booked in this week, please make sure:

• You have enough refreshments drinks are available in the salon, but if you’re particular about what you like, feel free to bring your own!

• You wear suitable, comfortable clothing so you can stay as cool as possible during your appointment.

• If you start to feel too warm at any point, please let me know I can always get a fan on to help cool you down!

I don’t want anyone feeling uncomfortable during their appointment, so please make sure you’re as relaxed and comfortable as possible ☀️

I thought now my business has grown a little, it was the perfect time to properly reintroduce myself…

Hi, I’m Ruby the proud owner of HairByRuby ✨

Over the past year, I’ve dedicated myself to perfecting and creating blonde transformations that have completely changed my hairdressing game. From subtle refreshes to the boldest blonde makeovers, every client has helped me grow into the stylist I am today 🤍

One of my proudest moments (if you couldn’t already tell 😂) was being recognised in the Top 10 in the UK for Best of Blonde 2025. Honestly… I don’t think I’ll ever stop talking about it! 🥹✨

My second proudest moment? Being told that if I wasn’t a hairdresser, I’d definitely be a comedian… so now I spend half my appointments practicing my jokes too 🤣

So, what can you expect from HairByRuby?

When you sit in my chair, I want you to leave feeling more confident than when you walked in. And no… unfortunately I don’t offer foot massages while doing your hair 😂

But what I do offer is an experience where you feel comfortable, listened to, and beautiful.

We live in a world full of pressure and unrealistic expectations, especially through social media. As a woman, I know how important confidence can be and being able to help enhance that through hair is something I’ll never take for granted 🤍

Whether it’s a simple trim, a fresh blonde, or the craziest transformation, making people feel amazing is the reason I love what I do.

One thing I also love about this industry is the support between hairdressers. Seeing other stylists smashing their goals, helping each other, sharing advice, and growing together is what makes this industry so special ✨

🤍 Creating Dimension 🤍

My beautiful client, who usually has a full head of highlights, came in today feeling nervous about taking a step back from her solid blonde and adding more dimension to her hair. We decided to break up the blonde with a soft ash brown lowlight and a root tap to create a more natural, lived in look.

After plenty of “trust me” moments, laughter, a little panic, and a few swear words along the way, the end result was exactly what she had hoped for and she left feeling so happy and confident with her new look.

She’s already booked back in for a few weeks’ time, and I’m so excited to see how the colour softens, grows out, and settles in over time 🤍
