Come along while I check on Oakley this morning. 🤍🐐

First up, he’s had all his bedding changed and has been gently turned so he’s clean and comfortable.

He’s moving his legs more and holding his head up, which previously kept flopping to the side because he was so weak. His responses are improving, his eyes are focusing, and he’s certainly letting me know when he wants food or a drink—even at 3am this morning!

He’s maintaining his body temperature now, too, and his ears feel warm again. We can finally let the fire die down a little and stop melting ourselves.

He had a huge breakfast in the early hours, so this is just a little top-up. We’re keeping his care sessions short and frequent, giving him time to rest in between.

I never imagined the sounds of a goat’s belly would be music to my ears, but hearing those rumbles means so much after the past few days.

He’s still very poorly, and we’re taking each little improvement as it comes. But this morning, there are small steps forward—and I’m so grateful for every one. 🤍

I will be in the shop today 10-12 and 1-3 as Nurse Norah is on the case with Oakley and I'll pop back to make sure shes also fed and watered!
