Growing up, I wasn’t raised to be religious or spiritual, & there were varying beliefs in my family, from people who were firm believers to complete sceptics.

I always sat somewhere in the middle, and probably swayed a little one way or the other from time to time.

But spirituality, especially, wasn’t really a part of my life.

That was until I started exploring it for myself and having experiences I couldn’t quite explain “logically”.

It started with the paranormal, but eventually developed into a much deeper interest in spirituality, self awareness and self development.

And I think that’s the thing about spirituality. It’s such a personal journey.

No one can tell you what to believe. And I don’t think you should blindly believe something just because someone else does.

Explore. Question. Be curious. Have your own experiences.

Find your own answers.

This journey has helped me through so much, and ultimately led to the creation of Soul Spring, something I’ll be eternally grateful for.

So I’m curious…

Where are you on your journey? What do you believe?

I was chatting to a client today about loneliness.

It’s a conversation I actually have quite often, and it got me thinking today…

Why are we so lonely?

In an age where it’s easier than ever to contact people, we somehow seem to be more disconnected than ever.

And I think there are a lot of factors to this.

One of them being a real lack of vulnerability and openness in our relationships and friendships.

Somehow, needing people has become something to be embarrassed about.

Wanting more connection can be seen as needy.
Wanting reassurance can be seen as too much.
Admitting that you’re lonely can feel like weakness.

So we shut up, get on with it and convince ourselves we should be able to cope on our own.

But humans are not designed to live completely independently of one another.

We need connection. We need touch. We need conversation. We need people we can be completely ourselves with.

And maybe part of changing this is becoming more willing to be honest about it & surround ourselves with people who also cherish human connection.

Because I don’t think wanting deep, meaningful connection is something we should have to grow out of.

What do you think? Why do you think so many of us feel lonely, even when we’re surrounded by people?

You don’t have to wait to be chosen.
Choose yourself.

I don’t say this from a place of pessimism. I say it from a place of knowing how easy it is to spend so much of our lives putting everyone else first, hoping that one day they’ll give us the same care, attention and love in return.

But at some point, we have to realise that we get to give that to ourselves too.

We have to make time for us.
We have to care for us.
We have to listen to what we need.
We have to make ourselves a priority.

Not because we don’t need other people, or because we should have to do everything alone.

But because we deserve to have a relationship with ourselves where we don’t have to wait for someone else to choose us before we feel worthy of being cared for.

So if there’s something you’ve been waiting for someone else to give you…

Ask yourself how you can start giving some of it to yourself.

I’ve been thinking a lot about my relationship with physical touch lately. Sometimes I deeply crave it. But it is often something that makes me feel really uncomfortable.

And I know I’m not alone in that.

Sometimes our bodies have learnt to brace with touch rather than soften into it.

Through our experiences, our relationships and sometimes trauma, touch can become something that our nervous system associates with discomfort, expectation or a need to protect ourselves.

But I know that for me, safe, consensual, platonic touch benefits me in so many ways.

It quietens my racing thoughts.
It helps me feel grounded and present.
My breathing and heart rate slow.
And I feel calmer, safer & more at peace.

So I think there is something really powerful about gently teaching the body that touch can feel safe again.

We spend so much of our lives holding it all together. Being the one who looks after everyone else. The one who pushes everything down.

So I want to create a space where you can slowly learn to soften.

To let yourself be held, cared for and fully receive without having to worry about what comes next.

A space where your body can experience touch as something nurturing, safe and simply for you.

Because I believe no one should have to feel alone in their need for connection.

If this is something you’d like to discuss further, please feel free to reach out for more information 💜

A pattern I notice time and time again is how easily the roles women are expected to take on can become confused with who they actually are.

The mother.
The wife.
The carer.
The teacher.
The daughter.
The partner.
The one who holds everything together.

And somewhere along the way, you can lose sight of the person underneath all those labels.

You’ve spent so long trying to be everything to everyone else that you’ve forgotten what lights you up. What you want. What you desire. What makes you feel alive.

And I honestly wish we were taught to be a little more selfish.

To stop believing that being a “good woman” means constantly giving, nurturing, supporting and putting everyone else first.

Because you are so much more than what you can give to other people.

You are beautiful.
Creative.
Powerful.
Magical.
Inspiring.
Individual.

And I want women to see themselves that way.

Not just as a mother. Not just as a partner. Not just as a carer or a daughter or an employee.

But as themselves.

The person underneath all the roles.

The person with her own wants, dreams, desires, weirdness, creativity and magic.

So maybe this is your reminder to put the labels down for a moment.

To ask yourself: Who am I when I’m not being needed by anyone else?

And maybe, just maybe, it’s time to get to know her again 💜

If this resonates with you, perhaps it’s time to give yourself an hour to simply be ✨ Book your treatment at Soul Spring and come back to yourself.

I was talking to a client this morning about the importance of platonic physical touch.

How it can help to regulate our emotions, ground us, quieten our minds and make us feel safe.

The reality is that a lot of people are touch deprived and left longing for human connection.

Inside all of us, there’s an inner child that just wants to be cared for. And for a lot of people, that comes in the form of physical touch and affection.

A hug. Having your hair stroked. A hand held. Someone gently rubbing your back.

Touch doesn’t always have to be about intimacy or s*x. Sometimes we simply crave the comfort of safe, nurturing human touch.

This is something I intentionally bring into my treatments.

My treatments are slow and nurturing, using pressure that can feel almost like a deep hug, allowing you to soften, settle and let go.

If this is something you feel you need at the minute, book online, or message for more information 💜

Massage is about so much more than working out tight muscles.

The things that can make a treatment feel truly different are often the things you don’t immediately notice.

✨ Being fully present with you
✨ Intuitively listening to what your body is communicating
✨ Slow, intentional movements rather than rushing from one technique to the next
✨ Working with your nervous system, not just your muscles
✨ Creating an environment where your body feels safe enough to soften

Because your body needs more than just firm pressure.

It needs to feel safe, listened to & held.

When the nervous system begins to settle, the body can finally stop bracing, soften and fully let go.

And sometimes, that is where the deepest relaxation happens 💜

We’ve had the best weekend celebrating my 33rd birthday! 🥳 (which is actually on the 21st)

Last friday we went to see Nile Rogers with Chic and Tom Jones, which was incredible! Honestly how does Tom Jones still have so much s*x appeal at 86!!!💃🏻

Followed by a few nights in Edinburgh for the Fringe Festival! Highlights including Primary School Bangers - which is exactly what it sounds like 😅

I am back in work tomorrow but fully booked this week! Diary is open for next week onwards, so book now to avoid disappointment!

We also have the Abakhan fun day this Saturday which I will be around for, so come down and say hello!

Why does Reiki make some people cry?

In my experienced, Reiki can be deeply emotional and cathartic.

When you’ve spent a long time holding things in, pushing emotions down, trying to get on with life when you’re struggling underneath it all, Reiki can help bring things to the surface.

We live in a world that often teaches us to hold it together, be strong and keep our emotions to ourselves.

Maybe you’ve been made to feel that your emotions are too much, or that showing them is a weakness.

But you don’t have to hold it all together in this space.

During Reiki, there is no expectation to feel a certain way. You can cry, feel overwhelmed, feel peaceful, feel nothing at all. Whatever comes up, you are allowed to feel it without judgement.

Sometimes your body just needs somewhere safe to let go of what it’s been carrying.

And if that looks like tears, that’s okay 💜
