One whole year of being self-employed and what a frigging year it has been!!

When I finally took the leap, I never imagined that within my first year I’d retrain in waxing, meet so many incredible people and open a salon with one of my best friends. I’m so proud of everything I’ve achieved, but I also wanted this post to show the honest side because it definitely hasn’t all been plain sailing🤣

There have been breakups, moving back home, approximately many renovation problems😅 and plenty of moments where I questioned what on earth I was doing. But some of the moments that felt like the biggest steps backwards actually gave me the opportunity to take my biggest steps forward🥹🫶

This milestone has also come at quite an emotional time, with Mum’s anniversary and recently losing my Grandad. It's really made me think of how quickly life moves and how important it is to appreciate the people who love and support you through every version of yourself, the good & the bad💖

To my friends and family, thank you for every pep talk, sleepover, lifted box, painted wall and moment you reminded me that I could do this🥹

And to my clients, thank you for every booking, recommendation, lovely message and conversation. Thank you for trusting me with your brows, lashes, bits and, very often, your entire life stories🤣 You’ve allowed me to create a business that feels completely like me, and I’ll never stop being grateful for that.

365 days later, I’m stronger, happier and prouder than I ever thought I could be (don't get me wrong, I still have down days, but a diva knows her worth💁‍♀️)

Becoming self-employed was such a daunting step, and in less than a year I’ve grown my little business, built the most amazing client base and even taken the huge leap of opening Gráli with one of my best friends 🥹🫶
