If you’ve ever tried adding a new product to your skincare routine, only to ditch it after a few uses because it didn’t work...this is for you.

Skin is made from multiple layers.

The uppermost layers are dead, pretty impermeable, damaged, dull and crusty.

The lowest layers are the fresh, new skin cells.

As the the top cells are removed, the cells from beneath replace them. And as they work their way from the bottom to the top, they accumulate damage (from UV and the environment) meaning that when they get to the top, they often aren’t as fresh, smooth and bouncy as we’d like!

A great skincare routine works because it targets cells in each of the layers with the correct active ingredients, concentrations and formulations.

From exfoliants that help slough off the top layer, SPF that protects the newly revealed skin, antioxidants that help protect the top and middle layers, to retinoids that stimulate cell proliferation in the deeper layers. Each product has a specific purpose.

And of course, these changes don’t happen overnight, and they certainly don’t happen if you’re inconsistent.

Real improvements to your skin are only realised if you’re using the correct products for your skin and budget, consistently and correctly, over a sustained period of time.
