Layers of our skin and how it works:

There are 3 layers that make up our skin:

Epidermis: Which is the top layer that we can see. This section is always making new skin cells. Our skin creates new skin every 30 days! This also provides your skin colour, and the amount of melanin decides the colour of your skin. The more melanin the easier it is for you to tan! ⛱️🌞

Dermis: which is the middle layer. This is where our hair follicles sit, along with blood vessels. Our nerves sit here, which tell us when something is too hot or cold to the touch. This section also creates oil in our skin, to keep our skin soft and smooth! 🧖‍♀️

Hypodermis: this is the very bottom layer of our skin. The fat that surrounds this area, protects our muscles and bones from injury. This section also regulates your body temperature, keeping you from being too hot or too cold🌡🥶

Our skin is an amazing part of our body and is constantly working and we should always look after our skin ❤️
