Pilates gave me a completely different way of relating to a body that, at 26, I’d started to feel quite disconnected from.

Some come and go. Some stay.

Sometimes Pilates is exactly what you’re looking for. Sometimes it isn’t, or perhaps it’s just not the right time.

And that’s fine and dandy.

After 26 years of teaching, I find it fascinating to see who stays, who surprises me and who finds their way back later 🧡

Lessons I’ve had to learn ⤵️

🙋‍♀️ Your body often reacts before your mind has had a chance to catch up.

🫠 Your nervous system is responding before you’ve even decided what to do.

😎 One of the most valuable things 26 years of Pilates and movement has taught me is body awareness.

🤩 Noticing signals and staying curious, over fear and quick response.

I hear these ALL the time. 😂

And while I’ll always meet you where you are, there are some things I’m just not letting you get away with on my watch.

Because how you talk about your body matters, and so does giving it the time, support and opportunity to surprise you.

I genuinely thought renovating a house would test me physically.

Three years later, I think I’ve learnt as much about my own resilience as I have about houses.
