✨ ONE YEAR OF THE HAIR STATION ✨

A year ago, I stood in this little salon with a head full of ideas, a million doubts and absolutely no idea what the hell I was letting myself in for. 😂

I just knew I wanted to create something that was mine.

And looking back now… bloody hell, what a year. 🥹❤️

I’ve built this little salon while juggling another job, two children, family life, appointments, school runs, an NVQ, everyday chaos and all the other things that come with being a mum and trying to keep everything else ticking along.

There have been days I've felt exhausted.
Days I've doubted myself.
Days I've wondered whether I was completely bloody mad for taking it all on. 😂

But then I look around.

At the salon I started with an idea in my head.
At the clients who have become familiar faces.
At the people who have trusted me with their hair.
At the friendships I've made.
At how much I've learnt.
And at how much I've grown.

And I think…

Look how far I've come. 🥹

This might be a little salon, but it represents a pretty big leap of faith for me.

I didn't wait until I felt ready.
I didn't have everything figured out.
I just took the plunge and figured it out as I went.

And one year later, I'm still here. ✂️❤️

So to every single person who has booked with me, come back to me, recommended me, shared my posts, encouraged me or simply cheered me on from the sidelines or put up with me talking absolute sh*te while doing your hair. 😂

You’ve played a part in this little journey, and I honestly couldn't have imagined a year ago how much this place would come to mean to me.

To the late nights, early mornings, messy colour bowls, questionable decisions, ridiculous conversations, happy clients, stressful days and everything in between.

💙 Can Ilkeston help get Saxon to £1,000?

Local 13-year-old Saxon is having his 27-inch long hair cut this afternoon after raising £780 for Ben's Den.

As well as raising money for our much-loved local charity, Saxon is donating his hair to The Little Princess Trust, where it will be used to make wigs for children who have lost their hair through cancer treatment.

What an incredible thing to do at just 13 years old. 👏

If the people of Ilkeston can give him one final push, it’d be fantastic to see him reach the £1,000 mark before the big chop.
