I am a self taught artist with some stage makeup training - I studied acting at Stow College in 2003 and I focused on stage makeup, I have also worked for several cosmetics counters and I have attended various MAC Pro training masterclasses including one with Terry Barber. I developed my skills by doing part time jobs and shoots on the side of my day job, college and uni education. Here I am now, working predominately on bridal, occasion and photo shoot makeup and I absolutely adore it. I am Professionally registered with MAC, NARS, Bobbi Brown, Illamasqua, Kryolan and Crown Brush. I am also a Motives Cosmetics UK representative and have an online store with their brand: www.motivesbygillianhoban.co.uk

I adore how much everyone fell in love with my beautiful client Lindsay 💕 It’s now reached 1.5 million views 😱
I posted this reaction reel because I loved our interaction. I never in a million years thought it would go viral but it’s so heartwarming that it has!
I think this moment showed her pure beauty radiating through and it was her kind, sweet soul that sparked that comforting connection with so many of you.
I also think we don’t give our grannies their moment nearly enough. Doing makeup for mothers and grandmothers of the bride and groom is one of my favourite parts of the job. So often they’ve quietly given up on glam, whether it’s trickier hands, changing eyesight or just losing a bit of confidence along the way. Giving someone the chance to look in the mirror and feel like their glam selves again is honestly the best feeling.

This was a very special bridal makeup for me 🤍
When I offered my first ever masterclass back in 2017 I asked Haesel Hush McDonald to model for me and she kindly did and she modelled for me many times after that before she moved away.
When she enquired about her bridal makeup I was so touched to be asked to be a small part of her special day.
For the bridal look, the brief was elegant and timeless. We had done a preview but for the day we opted for a little bit more on coverage and eyeliner.
