Let’s talk about DIY nail kits…
They’re cheap, convenient and make doing your own gel nails look incredibly simple 🤔
But there’s something that little box of products doesn’t come with…📚🎓
When you understand what’s actually happening inside that bottle of gel and the science involved in safely turning it into a finished manicure, professional education matters more than you might think. 💭
Gel nails are not being banned and the context surrounding why the ingredient TPO has been banned is incredibly important — yet the details behind the studies that led to its classification are something many of the clickbait headlines circulating in the news have failed to explain.
Instead, we’re once again seeing headlines that create unnecessary fear and confusion for both nail technicians and their clients.
A very frustrating time for technicians in an industry that seems to find itself at the centre of sensationalised headlines far too often. 🫠

One day of training is all it takes. ✨ Of course that’s only the beginning but taking that first step of getting trained is all it takes to change your future. 🌱
When I trained, all I wanted was to be able to save some money so I could afford to have nails on. I never thought that after booking my first course it would lead to me changing my entire career path half way through my university degree! 🫣
It was the best decision I’ve ever made. I genuinely feel so lucky every day at work because I love what I do so much - even after 12 years! So seeing my students achieve the same with their business is so rewarding to watch.
The lovely Kara here completed her 121 day in gel, builder & efile (my most popular class) last week and said,
“The course and experience was great, I felt so at ease the whole afternoon. Very informative and the time passed so fast! Follow for more aldi shopping hacks 😂 on a serious note though your timings matter! Speed should never come before quality however it should be a priority so you can earn a decent wage and appeal to more clients.

If you want to become a faster nail tech then try the following…
🔥 Move FASTER and never stop moving during appointments. Your hands should always be working on your client.
👀 Eye contact - AVOID! Eyes on your work at all times.
🙌🏼 Flash cure hands so you can constantly move - when one hands curing you should be working on the other hand.
🤫 Limit options for clients to choose from - don’t show them your entire kit!
🎨 Have designs ready you know you can do and spend time practicing them.
💪🏻 Pick the right product to reduce lifting
🥲 Stop doing unnecessary steps e.g finish filing if you don’t need too, using prep tools the client doesn’t require, wiping off designs that were ok the first time!
👏🏻 Use time saving methods - efile, stickers, foils etc
