Makeup Lesson - Clients Makeup Before VS after her lesson with me!

Shona brought along a photo of how she usually does her makeup for going out to show me. (Left)

This was super helpful as it helped me decide what we could do differently to help her bring her look up a level & really make the most of her features!

The main changes I have implemented into her routine to modernise & optimise;

- More defined brows
- Switched up eye makeup placement to really lift & open the eyes
- Added Jewel Cosmetics 1/2 lash in style Bali to lift & elongate eyeshape
- Introduced some contour to give the face more sculpt & shape
- Suggested more lip definition & a cupids bow lift to make the lips appear more full. I really felt Shona benefited from a bolder lip

This month has been super busy with wedding season having well & truly kicked off. July & August are set to me my busiest yet with some weeks having 4 weddings in a row, its going to be full on!

During this time, my admin & responses will be slower (just a heads up). But remember appointments for studio bookings with Kira or Neveah can be made via our online system.

I have little to no availability til November (with the exception of availability having now come up on Saturday 1st August)

Makeup for DJ singer, songwriter Marcella Woods last night before her set at Granite Festival ❤️

I was only meant to be going to her hotel to get her stage ready but as she was delayed I had around 40 mins to actually do her makeup - I done my best!

I ended up driving her to Hazlehead in a mad dash to make her stage slot (we made it through the gates on time, just!)

I thought I’d be dropping her & leaving but next thing I’m backstage with her standing next to all the other acts & Mauro Piccoto who she was taking over the decks from.

I could have stayed there all night but had to get back as 4am alarm was set for todays wedding (which was also amazing!) It was so incredibly lovely of Marcella to have me back there with her, she was a whirlwind of just incredible energy, positive vibes & she couldn’t have made me more welcome.

My feet havent touched the ground but I am absolutely buzzing & as always so, so grateful for every single opportunity that comes my way. But I also know how hard I have worked to get here, and its definitely paying off 🥰

Sidenote: Aware I have so many emails and DMs unanswered, I have a couple hours admin tomorrow morning and will get back to everyone then 🥰🥰🥰

Well ain’t she a darling!

My gorgeous client Ellie came back to see me this afternoon for a ‘top up’ lesson following her original lesson last year with me.

Shes been practicing what she learnt & wanted a refresher / some new ideas, having really gotten into the swing of things & becoming a makeup girlie!

2015, a little trip down memory lane!

I remember this photoshoot like it was yesterday. I had been doing makeup for a couple years (properly) and was celebrating being self employed for entire year (2014).

Wedding bookings were coming in thick & fast and I remember thinking it would be good to organise a styled shoot to showcase a more natural timeless look as opposed to the heavier party looks I was asked for a lot.

The Kardashian era was in full swing, and this shoot definitely served as inspo for a lot of my brides who just wanted something softer.

Its one of the few work examples from back then I think still stands well today. This is also why following trends should be carefully considered (they often date, whereas this kind of look doesn’t).
