I saw a quote about dads and their daughters but for me I’d say it works for sons too. The main bit for me was the importance of why the girls all call me their gorilla. I’ve always taken it as a compliment but have never over thought it. But then one day I realised that it is because of how they see me and what I am to them. That melted my heart a little.

As a child I often felt scared, vulnerable and weak so If my kids feel a little bit safer with their gorilla around, then I have achieved one of my biggest goals in life. A curse of being a man is that I don’t get much right but maybe I got this one a little bit right 👊🏼
