A message I never wanted to write.

For months, I’ve held onto hope—hoping my recovery would progress, hoping I’d be able to return to the studio, hoping the Doors of Always on Crown Street would reopen. I’ve tried everything to make that possible.

But today, with a heavy heart, I need to share that the studio will not be reopening.

I know this news may bring disappointment, and I feel that deeply. There’s nothing I wanted more than to be back in that space, creating and connecting. But it’s no longer sustainable to keep paying for a studio that remains empty.

Thank you—from the bottom of my heart—for the love, support, and kindness you've shown me during this incredibly difficult time. Your words and presence have meant more than I can say.

A Personal Update 💬

Over the past week, I’ve been trying to find the right words for this post. I absolutely hate letting people down—especially those of you who’ve shown such incredible loyalty and support over the past year. You deserve honesty, so I want to be completely transparent with you.

The treatment I received for my herniated disc, sadly, only provided temporary relief. As you can imagine, this has been a huge disappointment and a difficult setback. My spinal consultant was away throughout July, but I’m now booked in to see him later this week to explore further treatment options and understand what’s safe for me going forward. One thing I already know: spending long periods hunched over is no longer viable.

As many of you know, I’ve kept my shop open and continued covering all the overheads throughout this time, driven by my determination to return to work and not let anyone down. But financially, this has placed a significant strain on my family. The time has come for me to seriously assess my situation and make some very tough decisions.

Coming to terms with the possibility of living with chronic pain long-term is incredibly difficult, and no final decisions have been made yet. I just felt it was important to share where I’m at with you all.

Please know that replies to messages may be slower than usual—I’m doing my best to process everything, including the possibility of pausing my career.

Thank you for your continued understanding and support. It truly means the world to me. 💛

Hi everyone,

I wanted to provide a quick update on my recovery. I had my procedure two weeks ago and just started physiotherapy today. The rehabilitation is expected to take around 12 weeks, and I’m hopeful to be back in the studio for September.

I truly appreciate your patience and understanding during this time. I’ll reach out to all my existing customers to schedule your appointments as soon as I have a clearer timeline. Rest assured, there will be no additional cost for completing treatments that began before my injury.

Thank you for your support!

With love ALWAYS

Annabel

📢📢📢Spinal Consultation outcome:📢📢📢

I know many of you have been waiting for an update about my spine and my return to the studio.
Today I had my appointment at Ipswich hospital where the consultant confirmed the results of my MRI. Luckily my bulging disc has only been graded as a “grade 1” so surgical intervention isn’t needed at this time. The decision has been to go forward with a Spinal steroid injection to help reduce the inflammation of my nerve roots. Unfortunately the wait for this treatment is 3-6 months. The consultant has advised no leaning /bending over and no lifting until all of my symptoms have subsided. I explained my job role and the procedures I perform and he isn’t happy for me to return to normal duties as of yet as it could cause further damage.
Please know this wasn’t the outcome I was hoping for. I knew there would be a wait for treatment but I was hoping I would be returning to the studio in the mean time.
I will be in touch with all customers once I have been advised by a medical professional that it is safe for me to return to work and rebook you back in for completion of your treatments. If you decide you are unable to wait any longer please message me directly so I can give you the names other PMU artists in the industry that I highly recommend

I hope all my wonderful customers have had a fabulous Christmas and that New Years Eve marks the start of a new exciting chapter for you all.

I'm counting down the days until my appointment with the spinal consultant and keeping my fingers, toes and eyes crossed that I'm given the go ahead to get back in the salon.

If anyone wants to let me know their availability for the last 2 weeks of January and February so I can pencil you in for your refreshes around a possible phased return then please do pop me a message.

Please know that these appointments are dependent on the spinal consultant giving me the go ahead to return to work though.

Again I want to thank you all from the bottom of my heart for being so unbelievably understanding and patient. Each and every one of you mean so much to me and my little business. 💗

Annabel's MRI results are back and have confirmed "L4 5 disc extrusion with contact to the L5 nerve root."

Whilst she is still experiencing pain and weakness the decision has been made to postpone all appointments until after her appointment with the Spinal consultant on the 9th January.

Sorry for any inconvenience caused.
