Skin Tag Removal Using Cryotherapy

Skin tags are harmless, soft skin growths that commonly appear in areas where the skin folds — such as the neck, underarms, chest, groin, or eyelids. Although they are benign, many people choose to remove them because they catch on clothing, cause irritation, or affect confidence.

At Square Pharmacy, we offer clinical skin tag removal using medical‑grade cryotherapy, delivered with either nitrous oxide (N₂O) or liquid nitrogen (LN₂) depending on the size, location, and thickness of the skin tag.

Both methods are widely used in UK primary care and dermatology settings and provide a quick, safe, and effective way to remove unwanted skin tags.

Wart and Verruca Removal using Cryotherapy

Warts and verrucae are common viral skin lesions, but when they become painful, persistent or simply inconvenient, professional treatment can help you clear them quickly and safely. At Square Pharmacy, we use medical‑grade cryotherapy — a targeted freezing technique that destroys the affected tissue while protecting the surrounding healthy skin. Cryotherapy causes the cells to die so it falls of after a few weeks.

Our clinicians assess each lesion individually and provide a straightforward, effective treatment plan designed to restore clear, comfortable skin with minimal downtime.

Suitable for treatment

Adults and children over 12 years
Common warts (hands, fingers, knees)
Verrucae on the feet
Stubborn lesions unresponsive to home treatments
Multiple small lesions
Patients without significant medical conditions affecting healing

Not suitable (requires GP/dermatology referral)

Under 12 years old
Pregnant or breastfeeding
Diabetic patients with reduced sensation in feet
Immunosuppressed patients
Lesions that are:
rapidly changing
bleeding
pigmented
unusually shaped
Suspected non‑viral lesions (e.g., skin cancers, keratoacanthoma)
If unsure, we will advise during your consultation.

Treatment Workflow

What to expect from start to finish

1. Consultation (5–10 minutes)

Clinical assessment of the lesion
Confirm diagnosis (wart/verruca vs other skin lesion)
Discuss cryotherapy and expected outcomes
Review medical history and suitability
Provide pricing and consent
2. Cryotherapy Treatment (5 minutes)

Liquid nitrogen / nitrous oxide applied directly to the lesion
Freezing cycle lasts 5–10 seconds
May repeat depending on size/depth
Mild stinging or tingling is normal
3. Aftercare & Follow‑up

Area may blister or scab — this is expected
Healing usually takes 7–14 days
Follow‑up session booked if needed
Most patients see improvement after the first treatment
