The Hygiene Bank - Ipswich

It's National Hygiene Week!
🟡
Today, The Hygiene Bank and In Kind Direct have published 'Time to Act: Hygiene Poverty in the UK in 2026', revealing research sharing the true scale and impact of hygiene poverty. The research found that hygiene poverty has gone mainstream, affecting nearly 1 in 5 UK adults. 41% of those affected by hygiene poverty are experiencing it for the first time this year; this is the new face of hygiene poverty.
🟡
The research shows that the East of England as a whole is no different, with an average of 14% of adults currently experiencing hygiene poverty. This just shows the importance of EVERY donation made to any of our donation points - please keep all of those generous product donations coming in to support all of us in need locally. Thank you for any donations you have given us.

A huge thank you to both staff and customers at Boots UK in Felixstowe for a great collection of items. We've managed to sort through the items and are sending them out to help many people throughout the community.
💙
We've got our other Suffolk Boots stores with collection boxes: Ipswich's Tavern Street, Queens Way and Two Rivers, and also in Martlesham, Woodbridge, Hadleigh, Stowmarket, Bury St. Edmunds, Sudbury Market HIll, Great Cornard, and of course, Felixstowe. Thank you so much to all of you for your donations and support across the area.

Thank you to the team and the customers at Asda for a fantastic collection of products! A great variety of items which will help a range of people locally who need our help - we are looking forward to distributing them, thank you.
💚
We also have boxes at the Asda and Asda branches and we appreciate the continual donations from customers and staff at all three Asda stores. Thank you to anyone who regularly donates to any of these locations! Look out for the box in your local store!

A lovely photo here of Rob and Harley at Genesis Orwell Mencap receiving some products from us. Distributions to Community Partners like this are only possible because of donations from people throughout the community - thank you to everyone who has donated to one of our boxes recently.
✨
Genesis Orwell Mencap is a local charity that has been running for 25 years that offers day care and support for adults with special needs, complex disabilities and profound and multiple learning disabilities.

Basic hygiene shouldn't be a luxury. Yet right now, people are going without basics items like soap, shampoo, and toothpaste.
National Hygiene Week is coming up (5th–11th October), and you can help people locally who are in need.
⭐
Transform your workplace, school, cafe, gym or social club into a force for good. Hosting a hygiene collection for us at The Hygiene Bank is easy, rewarding, and deeply needed. Drop us comment or message and we can help you get set-up!
