I absolutely love education and learning, I truly believe you can never know too much. â¨
I recently spent time with a group of like minded hairdressers, all there for the same reason: to learn, grow and be the best we can be. Iâve taught a couple of classes myself already, but that doesnât mean I donât still need guidance and education. In fact, I think the best educators are the ones who never stop being students.
Wanting to learn more doesnât mean youâve failed it means youâre invested in improving. đŤ
Iâve always said that if you leave a class having learned just one new thing, then itâs been worth it. Every little bit of knowledge helps us grow, and thatâs what keeps our industry moving forward. â¤ď¸âď¸

Letâs be honestâŚ
There are plenty of hairdressers with 20+ years of experience who still feel a knot in their stomach when a client asks for lived-in, low-maintenance colour.
Not because theyâre bad hairdressers.
Not because theyâre too old.
Simply because nobody taught us this stuff when we trained.
So instead of confidently saying âAbsolutely!â, you might find yourself thinkingâŚ
âOh sh*t⌠what now?â đ
If thatâs you, I want you to know youâre not alone.
You donât need to start from scratch.
You donât need to feel embarrassed.
And you definitely donât need to hand those clients over to someone else.
You just need the right training, explained in a way that actually makes sense.

One of the biggest shifts in my colour work came when I stopped thinking about adding more and started thinking about placing better.
Less can absolutely be more.
When every section has a purpose, the finished result looks clearer, more dimensional and far more expensive.

When did we start believing we have to know everything?
Iâve been hairdressing for over 30 years, and Iâm still learning. In fact, I hope I never stop.
One thing Iâve realised is that so many talented hairdressers doubt themselves. They think theyâre too old to learn something new, or that they should know more by now.
Thatâs exactly why I started educating.
Not to show people how much I know, but to help other stylists build confidence, believe in themselves and realise itâs okay not to have all the answers.
Because the best hairdressers arenât the ones who know everythingâŚ
Theyâre the ones who never stop learning. đ¤
