Everyone sweats. It's a normal function of the body for the regulation of our body's temperature.
Although most of the time people sweat whilst exercising or getting hot, excessive sweating (hyperhidrosis) occurs when the body doesn't need to cool down. And sometimes it can be excessive in places such as the scalp, face, underarms, back, hands, chest, groin and feet.
This can be due to underlying medical conditions, side effects of medications, or idiopathic.
Sometimes there's no cure for hyperhidrosis but good news is that there are treatments that can help with this.
One treatment is the use of botulinum toxin and some tiny needles. The treatment is relatively simple and painless. The treatment usually takes around 30 minutes and the results can last between 6 to 12 months, depending on the size of the area and the dosage used.
