A close-up of my first set of strokes for a new client’s brows 🤍

These are my main strokes, which build the structure and foundation of the brow. I’ll then go back in with a second pass where needed, depending on the client’s skin type.

After I add in more smaller strokes, usually at slightly different angles, to fill any larger gaps while keeping everything looking realistic, fluffy and naturally placed.

It’s all about building the brow thoughtfully to create a soft, natural-looking brow that works with the client’s individual hair pattern. ✨

Since fully coming back from maternity leave and building my working days up I have been able to add in some extra slots.

Flat brows to full and fluffy brows!!
All carried out in two hours to last the next years before a colour boost is completed to keep them fresh for the next period of time 🙌

The perfect brow always starts with the perfect pre draw.

The prep for brow treatments is vital to achieving a successful finished look.

I spend time talking to each client, building a brow in my head from the things we’ve discussed.

This will include things like:

• Do they wear makeup on their brows?
• If yes, do they wear it daily?
• Do they wear other makeup — are they minimal or more full-faced?
• What is their lifestyle? Do they spend lots of time outside?
• How do they maintain their brows at home? Do they wax, thread, pluck or none?
• How would they describe their current brows?
• How would they describe the look they would like?
• Is as natural as possible the goal, or would they like something fuller and more defined?

These are just a few of the things we talk about during the consultation, which is carried out before the predraw.

I really do use and trust my eyes when pre-drawing. I don’t rely on measurements alone, and I stand by the fact that a freehand drawing is more natural and realistic.

I don’t use stencils. I map the face first for symmetry and then freehand the brow drawing.

Brows are not supposed to be 100% symmetrical.

If you were to draw a line down the centre of our face, we are not a mirrored image on each side. Our facial muscles, bones and even our natural hair growth can all affect how our brows sit.

However, those who have been to me before will know I’m a perfectionist, and I love to try and achieve as much symmetry as possible.

Sometimes this is dependent on the facial muscles, bone structure and the hair we have to work with, and that’swhy I work with what you’ve got.

I’ll often lay you down and sit you back up, cross checking with your eyes open and closed, until we can get the match as close as possible.

I’m not looking to completely change your brows. I’m looking at working with the brows you already have, enhancing and tweaking them.

For most clients, this means adding thickness, creating more symmetry, and lifting the arches and tails.

The shape I draw, once the client is happy with it, will be the shape I follow when carrying out the actual treatment. I only work inside the white lines.
