here’s why:
Sunbeds emit UV radiation, which causes microscopic damage to skin cells and DNA. Your body needs time to:
• Repair damaged cells
• Reduce inflammation
• Replace stressed skin cells

If you tan again too soon, the damage builds up faster than your skin can repair it, increasing long-term risks.

If you burn, it often doesn’t show immediately. Redness or irritation can appear 6–24 hours later. Waiting a day lets you see if your skin reacted badly before exposing it again.

Tanning happens because your skin produces melanin (pigment) after UV exposure. This process takes time:
• Melanin production increases over 24–48 hours
• Tanning too frequently doesn’t speed results much, it mostly increases damage.

Frequent UV exposure is linked to skin aging and skin cancer, including Melanoma. Spacing sessions reduces (but does not mean there’s no risk) risk.
