Morning all. I have something special for you all today. These are some quarter sawn English oak boards. Dimensions are 3m long 220mm wide and thickness between 18 - 22 they were cut at 25 and dried then I have just run them through the thicknesser to clean them up. For ease of sale they are all the same price £45

I still have quite a few bits of this gorgeous Yew left and a few of the walnut cookies with a hole in the middle. I have also got some beautiful 3m long quater sawn oak planks that are ready they are about 200mm wide They come up lovely once they have been run through the thicknesser. Anyways come on down and have a rummage !! cash or card payments are accepted i will be open Saturday 30th from 9am until 3pm

I dont usually do this, but a good friend of mine is selling these fabulous kids toys and various other boxes and boards. All made from odd offcuts and scraps.
So should you be in the Borough green area tomorrow afternoon why not pop in the black horse pub and see what he has.

Next time you see a slab thats all grey and boring looking, its not rotten or anything its just weathered. Just look at the contrast in the spalted beech that is on the flattening mill. Then a little splash of water to bring out the colour snap a pic and put them out.

Calling all you wood turners. I have had a run of enquiries lately regarding woodturning blanks.
Today i finally got around to going thru a crate of yew logs, some have been kicking about for best bit of 10 years.
They are in pretty big chunks not your shop bought perfectly round blanks that resemble a cake. 250 - 300mm square and 150 - 200 deep. They are only £20 each there are a couple of smaller ones that i can do a bit cheaper. I strongly urge you to come and rummage. They will make some beautiful bowls as I only pick the best bits 😉

well lookee here, I have some cheeky bonus wood for you lucky people tomorrow. I cut up one of the twisted pear planks into boards. Then this evening I flattened them on the jointer, then ran them through the thicknesser. I even did a demo board.
A quick once over with a sander to take off any sharpe corners, a splash of mineral oil and hey presto you have a beautiful charcuterie board.

Back by popular demand some big yew cookies and some walnut with the hole in the middle.

Experiment time.
Problem how to get something nice from this knobbly Yew, its too narrow to make worthy planks. I would make some small cookies. In the end I went halfway between a cookie and a plank.
Surprisingly it all went to plan and produced something very cool.
