Hey guys, I'm still fundraising for Christian Solidarity Worldwide's amazing work in Nigeria.
This Sunday, I attended my weekly church service in a college building. As I walked to church, my greatest fear was the possibility of the wind blowing off my wig.
To others, this is a luxury they can only dream and pray for. This is the case for many Christians, moderate Muslims and other beliefs in northern Nigeria where people are persecuted for their beliefs by Boko Haram, the same group responsible for kidnapping 276 school girls in 2014. Churches are burnt down, people are refused employment, treatment in hospitals, education and other basic human rights. This is such an important cause and it's so crucial that we are first thankful for the fact that we are allowed to believe what we believe, or not, in peace and secondly that we find compassion to want to help those less fortunate. It's very easy to feel like when bad things are happening far away that it doesn't concern us, but it does. If it concerns the world, it concerns you. Today it's 'them', tomorrow it could be you and I can guarantee you that you'd want people to help or think about you.
