John Newman started his hairdressing career in 1972 and celebrated his own 40 years in Hairdressing in 2012. John’s father, Derek, was a barber as was his father, Ted, before him, who started a hair salon in Rothwell in 1922. John is now the third generation of hairdressers in Rothwell and has built up an enviable reputation for service, quality, staff training and a state of the art salon which is fully air-conditioned and has free wi-fi available. Newmans’ Hairdressing has been part of Rothwells’ community for more than 90 years. John has been recognised for his training excellence by being awarded ‘Employer of the Year 2006’ for both Northamptonshire and the East Midlands by the Learning Skills Council.
