Who else is a big dog lover? β€οΈβ€οΈππ
β¨ Paw Prints on Dresses β¨
Itβs a common misconception that having a dog attend your wedding, almost always results in muddy paw prints over the Brides white wedding dress.
And thatβs what it is - a misconception! π
This is by far one of my most frequently answered questions and grievances with couples - and Iβm more than happy to explain. β¨
Companies that work at Weddings with dogs on a regular basis, have set procedures in place to help minimise the risk of this.
Dogs CAN and SHOULD still be walked the morning of the wedding (unless they have a medical or physical condition that prevents them from doing so, in which case, mental stimulation games are still a go). This helps them to allievate energy, and keeps them as close to a normal routine as possible. The right walk and mental stimulation will leave your pup absolutely knackered by the end of the day and in some cases, more relaxed at the wedding. πΆ
It is absolutely NOT recommended to leave your dogs to not have a walk simply because they might get muddy.
All dogs are washed (either in the bath/shower or by using rinse free shampoo), and are either thoroughly towel dried with specific drying towels OR dried with a groomers blower. We attend all weddings with microfibre towels, which we keep on hand for drool, paws, and bellies. β¨
In case of rain (where possible) Iβll always attempt to pick up and carry your dogs to a sheltered area - but this is dependant on size. Weβve made an investment recently in weatherproof suits for heavy heavy rain.
IF Iβm worried your dogs are still slightly damp - I WILL pre-warn you. β¨
I will never let your dogs close enough to your dress to outwardly jump all over it and dogs are certainly never let off the lead. I will always request that the groom says hello first, which helps to take the initial brunt of excitement, and then together we will help you say hello to your pups. πΆ
Again, when it comes to photographs, I will usually hold onto your pups, until youβre ready and in position for me to handover to the groom. β¨
Weddings with dogs are so so much more controlled than what people think. Itβs not a free for all, dogs running about like crazy. We have a plan, that we work with. π
