Remember to try and support a local business if your can from buying food, gift voucher or asking if they need assistance with deliveries to the people who are in isolation.

One way to support your local hairdressers is by purchasing any of your hair products you normally buy at the supermarket from your stylist. In fact, this will be better for your hair so win win πŸ˜‰

We're also encouraging anyone who postpones their hair or beauty appointment at ANY salon to grab a voucher for their next visit.
Once we're all calmed down and back to normal, it's one less thing for you to worry about on your next appointment and it helps keep your local salons afloat during these crazy times and keeps cash flow consistent.

We are now using @cocochoco_uk keratin treatments, so if you fancy smoother , straighter hair this is for you ! !

How long does the keratin treatment last? Will my hair need any special care? πŸ˜‡ πŸ‘‡
Keratin treatment lasts 3-4 months. The hair should be washed with a shampoo without sulfates, which would wash away the keratin from the hair. However, some sulfate-free shampoos may contain other chemicals that disrupt the keratin treatment, so for best results, we recommend using our COCOCHOCO aftercare products, which have have been specially designed to maximize the duration of the effect of the keratin application and keep your hair healthy. You can choose between a classic sulfate-free shampoo or choose a shampoo containing ceramides. #cocochocokeratin #keratin #smoothing #straighthair

β€˜Twas the night before Christmas, the salon was closed

Not a hairdryer was blowing, not a polish was posed

The products were displayed on the shelf with care

Creams for your skin, shampoo for your hair

The owners were snuggled in their beds for the night

Awaiting the morning, the glimpse of daylight

And when they arose, they’d paint on their smiles

Keeping the magic for every small child

But a knot in the belly would still be right there

As they drew to the end of a difficult year

For all of December had been quite morose

With uncertain updates and constant no-shows

A month that when normal, would be packed to the rafters

With festive hot chocolate and clients and laughter

Days that would keep them for months to come

But now the outlook looked rather glum

Because as a small business it’s been a bad year

When December’s packed diary now looked scarily clear

When those beautiful gifts wrapped up gold twine

Are now being purchased instead online

A business that once was strong and thriving

Now merely existing and almost surviving

Awaiting support and maybe VAT cuts

And never quite sure if their doors would shut

We can change the story to a happy ending

Although of course, it's you depending

It's time to shop local and support who we know

Spend your money in places so they can start to regrow

Help out the person who’s been by your side

As they painted your nails when you were a bride

Or coloured your hair before your first date

Or massaged your shoulders when they really ached

Let's make a pact to change how we β€˜do’

Let's rewrite the story for 2022

And if you can't spend the money there’s lots you can do

Share a post, leave a comment or write a review

Tell all your friends it’s the best place you know

So when they need treatments they’ll know where to go

And next time you spend, keep all this on your mind

And always remember to always be kind

TRIGGER WARNING- Babyloss

We are sharing Sarah and Liam’s story today. Thank you for sharing Eliza with us today β™₯️

After a smooth and low-risk pregnancy, I finally was in labour. I was already 5 days over my due date. My husband, Liam, and I headed up the the hospital to be checked. After two failed attempts with the doplar machine the midwife said she would get a consultant to scan me. I will never forget the consultants kind, sad eyes when she told us our baby didn’t have a heartbeat. Our baby had died. We asked to go home and they granted our wish with the promise we would return later that morning. I needed to go home and be somewhere familiar. My head was whizzing in confusion, my heart was breaking and my body was contracting and preparing to deliver our baby. Later that afternoon, we had a little girl who we named Eliza Jane Chapman. She was absolutely perfect with her dark curly hair, long piano fingers, rose bud lips and tiny button nose. We spend the next 24 hours cuddling and loving our precious girl. It was so special. Walking away from her and leaving her in the hospital was one of the hardest things I have done. A few months later we found out Eliza had a fetomaternal haemorrhage which is extremely rare. Then just before her first birthday we found out she the haemorrhage was caused by my extremely small placenta which stopped working shortly before birth.

Eliza was our first and only child. She were so excited about her arrival and this next chapter in our lives and in was swift move everything came crashing down.

Since then we have gone on another challenging journey to have a sibling for Eliza. Her little sister, Liberty, was born in November 2020. She brings us such joy but I will always want and miss Eliza. Eliza is our firstborn and she’s loved beyond measure.

TRIGGER WARNING- Babyloss

Today we are sharing two stories, firstly Elizabeth and Gary’s. Thank you for sharing Kirsty with us β™₯️

Our daughter Kirsty would have been 29 this year, stillborn (at 8 and half months) on 8th June 1992.
She was a much wanted, much loved daughter, sister, granddaughter, niece and cousin.

We were ecstatic when we found out I was expecting after trying for a baby for a year and a half. Seeing that double pink dot filled us with joy.
The pregnancy progressed as normal and my bump grew bigger and bigger.
My 2 step-daughters Gemma and Carley grew more excited as the due date became closer.

It was just a normal Saturday night but I do remember I didn't sleep as well. Couldn't seem to get comfy.
I woke on the Sunday and something just felt different. The baby always kicked a lot in the morning but this time I felt nothing and my bump seemed a little higher than normal.
I just put it down to the baby being tired.
I did all the little things I knew they didn't like, like pushing my tummy into the sink a little while I was peeling potatoes or washing up. They used to kick like mad then. But still I felt nothing.

I kept believing it would all be fine but then at 3pm I was crying to my husband Gary. He suggested we go to the hospital but I said I didn't want to go as they'd tell me the baby was dead. I just had an overriding fear of being told bad news.

We arrived at the hospital and the midwife used a Pinard stethoscope to try to find a heartbeat. When one wasn't found they brought a portable scanner in to confirm what I already knew. Our baby had died.
We were in shock and couldn't really talk or cry or anything.

We were told we could go home and inducement would be arranged in a few days but I had somehow distanced myself from everything and said I needed to be induced straight away.
We were taken to a side room and I was given the first dose of prostin gel and waited. After the 2nd dose, at about 2am Monday, the pain became stronger and I was taken to the delivery suite.

My waters were broken at 9am and I was given an epidural and labour was progressing. I managed to sleep a little after this.
The midwives were fantastic but I was so moody and have always felt they must have thought I was so ungrateful but it was my only way of dealing with it all.

I remember pushing for about an hour and then our beautiful baby girl Kirsty Anne Tuttle arrived in the world at 3.26pm weighing 5lb 5oz. Silent but beautiful. It then hit Gary and his sobs were heart-breaking. I think until that time he still believed there was some hope and maybe, just maybe, they had made a mistake.
I still, somehow felt calm and Kirsty was handed to Gary then me.

The midwives left us and we had some special moments alone. I hugged our baby girl and kissed her then looked at her tininess and she was just perfect.
The midwives then came and weighed, measured, dressed her, took footprints, handprints and a tiny lock of Kirsty's hair for us, which I will treasure forever. We took many photographs too. She was treated the same as a living baby would have been and that meant the world to us.

All 3 of us went back to the side room and my mum, sister and best friend came to visit us. They asked lots of questions and talked about Kirsty as if she was alive and they will never know how much that meant to us.

I think I was still in shock that night but the next day I awoke and every part of me hurt and yearned for my baby. I sobbed uncontrollably in Gary's arms. Kirsty hadn't stayed in our room that night but as soon as I asked the midwives brought her back to us.

We left the hospital that day and it broke our hearts to leave her there. Our baby should have been coming home with us.
When I walked in the front door there was a kind of eeriness - how could everything at home be the same when my whole world had fallen apart.
How can I tell two big sisters aged 5 and 7 that their baby sister isn't coming home?

The post mortem confirmed what we knew, that our baby girl was perfect. She was born with the umbilical cord around her neck twice but that is quite common but could be the reason but we just don't know.

We bought a beautiful pink dress, some booties and a cardigan and took the only clothes we'd ever get to dress Kirsty in to the hospital and cuddled our baby girl for the final time knowing that was the last time we were ever going to see her again.

We had a little service for family at her grave and it was heart-breaking to see her little white coffin, knowing that was our final goodbye.
We had a teddy bear headstone made for her and we and my sister visit every week. My mum passed away 9 years ago and although her ashes are buried in Ireland, we have an engraved memorial vase on Kirsty's grave so it feels like she's with her Nanny now, which is a great comfort.

We talk about Kirsty often and I'm so grateful that we can. It keeps her memory alive. A friend lost their baby 50 years ago and it wasn't until I lost Kirsty that she was able to talk about her loss.

We were so lucky to be blessed with two more children, Ashleigh and Matthew, but every milestone, birthday, Christmas, event, makes you realise how much you lost and missed out on. So many memories that should have been made with her included.

The impact of losing your baby doesn't just lie with you, it affects all your family. They feel the impact of the loss too and the thoughts of how things should have been.

The latest celebration was our daughter Ashleigh married on 24th July and Kirsty would have been beside her as a bridesmaid. Another special day we missed having her be a part of. So, it meant so much that Ashleigh made this special picture so she was remembered on the day and was included in a small way.

She will be always loved, never forgotten.
