It’s been an Anti-wrinkle day in clinic today…

I am hearing some horror stories happening within the aesthetic industry right now and it’s scary how people are booking in for treatments without doing their research.

If you are wanting Anti-Wrinkle treatment please remember this is a prescription medication. Look out for the red flags…..

🚩 If you are not invited in to the clinic to see a prescriber face to face who will discuss both your medical history, current medication you take and aesthetic history then you have had anti-wrinkle treatment prescribed correctly.

🚩 If you do not know what brand they are using then ask. Also there should be a prescription label on the box with YOUR details on the box. This is a prescription just the same as if your GP prescribed you antibiotics that you went and picked up from your local pharmacy

🚩 Make sure the procedure is fully discussed with you including side effects / potential complications. If you do not know this how can you make an informed decision to consent??

🚩 If someone is advertising cheap prices for Anti-wrinkle then ask why? It isn’t cheap to buy plus prescriber costs on top? Where are they getting it from that cheap? Are they sharing vials? Is it coming from the black market? If they are how long as it been stored in the fridge? Is it safe for use?

🚩 It’s important that treatment is stored correctly at the right temperature. This reduces the risk of bacteria. This treatment is being injected into your face. You don’t want to put yourself at risk of infection….
