Jade’s first Curly Cut

Jade came in for her very first curly cut, and what a transformation! 🤎

For this cut, we worked completely on dry hair, allowing me to see Jade’s natural curl pattern, density and how each curl naturally falls.

I focused on creating shape, movement and volume, while maintaining as much length as possible. ✂️

After styling and allowing the curls to settle into their natural shape, I went back in for a final curl-by-curl refinement — carefully removing any areas that needed extra definition and perfecting the overall shape.

I love how much more defined, balanced and bouncy Jade’s curls look after her first Curly Cut! 🥰

Sarah’s first curly cut ✂️

For Sarah’s first visit, my main priority was to preserve as much length as possible while creating a shape that would enhance her natural curls and build beautiful volume.

First appointments are always about getting to know your hair, so I took a more cautious approach. Curly hair naturally springs up after styling, and I wanted to avoid any “curl shock” by removing too much length too soon.

A thoughtful cut today means we can continue refining the shape at future appointments as we learn how Sarah’s curls behave.

Keeping the length was the priority for Jean’s first curly haircut, while creating a shape that would help her curls come to life.

The face-framing layers were cut dry, allowing me to see exactly how the curls naturally fall and avoid taking off more than needed once the curl pattern springs up.
