East Dunbartonshire Women’s Aid are asking for support with their Christmas appeal, helping mums make Christmas special for their children.

ONLY 12 WEEKS TO GO 🎄

We are so incredibly grateful for the amazing support we get every year. If you are considering supporting us again this Christmas, can we share a small change about how we would like to support families this year?

Many of the mums we work with have told us how much it would mean for them to be able to choose a gift for their child themselves. So, this year, we are asking our wonderful supporters if they would consider donating vouchers (e.g. Amazon, Argos, Primark, Supermarkets, Greggs, Coffee shops, One for All) or cash instead of toys.

A voucher allows a mum to pick exactly what her child wants, wrap it herself and see their face on Christmas morning. It restores a bit of dignity and choice at a time when so much choice has already been taken away from them.

Cash donations will be used to purchase supermarket vouchers to help mums buy their Christmas dinner, Christmas crackers and selection boxes.

We will still be grateful for donations for women, including gift sets, biscuits, scarfs, gloves, socks and slippers.

We so have an Amazon wishlist with specially selected gifts for the women, children and young people we support if you would prefer the choice of a physical gift.

We had the loveliest response from our raffle winner Lynda Roddie.

Lynda won our raffle and when we offered her the choice of a gift voucher or a selection of products, she said she would like to gift her voucher to someone in our community who could really use a little cheering up, a treat or some kindness. 💗

Hi all!! Two members of the team are looking to expand their colour knowledge and require two models for training free of charge.

Wednesday 14th October.

Time 10am-1pm

Maximum 50% grey hair
Can be for Demi or Permanent color (not lightening)
Must be 18+

No hair extensions
No corrective color

What we’re looking for:

🤍 Someone who is open to suggestions and different colour options
🤍 Happy for the colour and technique to be discussed and decided on the day
🤍 Someone who doesn’t have a very specific end result that must be achieved
🤍 Ideally someone happy for us to explore the possibilities of their hair and use the day as an educational opportunity

As this is an education model, we cannot guarantee a particular colour result or work exclusively from an inspiration picture. The aim is to have the freedom to assess your hair and explore what will work best from an educational perspective.
