Why does the mouth age so quickly?

The perioral region (the area around the mouth) is often one of the first areas of the face to show visible ageing. That's because this small anatomical zone is subjected to constant movement every single day through speaking, smiling, eating and facial expression.

Over time, repeated muscle activity, collagen depletion, elastin loss and thinning of the skin contribute to:
