No need to pretend you are fine—
Or act like you feel worse than you do…
Just come as you are.
Our door is open, and the kettle is on.
We’ve had to pretend we were fine just to get through the day.
We’ve had to act worse than we were just to be taken seriously.
We’ve sat in appointments trying to explain symptoms that didn’t fit neatly into a box.
We’ve put on the brave face.
We’ve rehearsed what we were going to say.
We’ve felt that look.
Heard the shift in tone.
“Are you sure?”
“But you don’t look unwell.”
“You’re very young.”
“That doesn’t usually happen.”
“Are you sure it’s not just stress?”
Or women being asked about periods, pregnancy tests, hormones, anxiety, or “women’s problems” before anyone really listens to what they came in to say.
We’ve been questioned.
Quizzed.
Dismissed.
Doubted.
Made to feel like we were exaggerating.
Or imagining it.
Or not trying hard enough.
Trying not to sound too emotional.
Or too calm.
Too informed.
Or not informed enough.
Trying to explain what was happening in our own bodies without accidentally talking ourselves out of being believed.
So when you come to The Entourage Effect—
you don’t need to have the perfect words.
You don’t need to perform your symptoms.
You don’t need to prove that your body is worth listening to.
We’ve been through enough of that already.
So we won’t make you go through it here.
We know how that feels.
And we know how much it can put people off asking for support in the first place.
So here, you can talk openly.
Ask questions.
Feel heard.
And start making sense of what your body might be trying to tell you.
That is The Entourage Effect.

This is one of the most common posture imbalances we see at The Entourage Effect due to the widespread use of mobile devices, plus desk jobs, bad chairs, and driving…
Learn about this common imbalance and more, and how to spot them, in my recent post on The Entourage Effect.

2 of the main tools we use here at The Entourage Effect…

This is why I’m such a big believer in dealing with small imbalances early.
Because sometimes it isn’t a huge accident that tips the body over.
Sometimes it’s one bad night’s sleep in a strange position.
One long drive.
One awkward cinema seat.
One long-haul flight.
One bend, twist, reach, or step your body wasn’t quite ready for.
And suddenly you’re sore, stiff, tilted, locked up, or moving differently for days, weeks, or sometimes even months.
That doesn’t mean the tiny thing “caused” the whole problem from nowhere.
It often means there was already some imbalance, restriction, instability, bracing, or compensation sitting in the background—
and that one mundane moment was just enough to expose it.
That’s where KCR and connective tissue release can be so useful.
Not just after major injuries.
But when your body has started giving you the smaller signs:
niggles, stiffness, one-sided tightness, restricted movement, or that feeling that something just isn’t sitting right.
Come in before the small niggles you barely notice becomes the big thing you can’t ignore.
We see a lot of people who have had big horrific injuries.
Broken backs.
Car crashes.
Sports injuries.
Falls from height.
People who were knocked over as children and say their body has never felt the same since.
We also see people who have been passed from pillar to post for years trying to work out why they still feel sore, stiff, twisted, tilted, locked up, or not quite right.
But honestly?
The majority of people we see don’t come in because of one big dramatic accident.
Most of them come in because of pretty mundane boring stuff.
The everyday stuff we are all guilty of at times.
The things almost all of us do without giving it a second thought.
Sitting or lying about for hours.
Driving long distance.
Sleeping funny.
Doom-scrolling.
Sitting with one leg crossed over the other.
Sitting with your phone or wallet in your back pocket.
Sitting in a chair until your bum starts to feel square and numb, so you lean to one side, then the other, trying to spare one cheek at a time.
Or standing at a concert for hours shifting from one foot to the other.
Long car journeys.
Long-haul flights.
Falling asleep twisted on the couch.
Missing the bottom step— or thinking there’s another one when there isn’t.
Bending for something small when your body is already stiff, twisted, tired, braced, or unsteady.
None of these things are dramatic.
But the effects often can be.
Don’t let the little problems you barely notice become the big issues you can’t ignore.

This is a great example of why I try not to describe KCR as simply “posture correction.”
Because this isn’t someone just standing up straighter.
This is a body that has spent decades adapting around altered muscle tone, weakness, tension, restriction, and compensation.
When a body has had to work that hard for that long, the aim is not perfect posture.
The goal is less strain.
Less bracing.
Less effort.
More room for the person to stand, move, breathe, and function with a bit more ease.
That’s what matters most here.
Not just the incredible visible change in posture, although it is very clear.
But the fact that his body naturally found a different resting position after the session.
No coaching.
No forcing.
No adjusting how he stands for the photo.”
Just helping reduce some of the tension and compensatory patterns that had been pulling him forward and down.
Really proud of this one.
