Today’s appointment focused on evening out the blonde, refreshing the tone and creating a softer, more seamless finish from root to tip.

Had a few messages regarding the chair we currently have available to rent at The Doll House Lancaster, so I thought I’d answer some of the most common questions.

🖤 Would I consider another hairdresser or hair extension specialist?

It’s not something I’m saying no to, however it isn’t my main priority right now. If you’d be interested in joining us in that capacity, please feel free to message me. It wouldn’t be anything immediate and it would definitely need to be the right fit for both the salon and our clients.

🖤 Is it a day rate?

Yes. For a makeup artist, the station is available at £30 per day, with an introductory rate of £20 per day for the first month.

🖤 Is it just a makeup station?

No. If you also offer services such as hair styling, hair ups or blow dries alongside makeup, that’s absolutely fine. Ideally, I would love to find someone who offers makeup services, but there is flexibility for the right person.

🖤 Who would it suit?

This opportunity would be perfect for someone with an existing clientele who is looking to expand, relocate, or work from a more city-centre-based location.

BRITISH SUMMER & HAIR EXTENSIONS ☀️🖤

Hot weather, humidity, random rain showers and sunshine can all take a toll on your hair extensions if you’re not protecting them properly.

Here are a few simple ways to keep your extensions looking glossy, soft and healthy throughout the British summer:

🖤 Use a lightweight SPF hair oil or UV protection spray on mid to ends try and use a spray or a mist as it can be applied more evenly
🖤Alternatively you can use a leave in conditioner to help keep extensions hydrated without weighing them down but try not to over do any product as it can cause product build up
🖤 Brush regularly to avoid tangling from wind and humidity
🖤 Keep oils, heavy creams and SPF away from bonds or beads
🖤 Braid hair loosely for days out, festivals or windy weather
🖤 Chlorine, sea water and heat can dry extensions out quickly so always rinse and nourish afterwards
🖤 Sleep with hair tied loosely and ideally on a silk pillowcase during warmer nights
🖤 Don’t forget your scalp needs protecting from the sun too
🖤 Just because it’s hot don’t leave your hair to air dry

I am back properly from Saturday after taking a few much needed days off over half term

Last half term was spent renovating, painting, building, moving salons and running on pure adrenaline trying to create our dream salon and we’ve definitely made that dream real

June is already looking incredibly busy across the salon and I genuinely cannot believe how full the diary is becoming in our dream salon.

The support, recommendations, returning clients and new faces honestly mean more than you’ll ever know. Every appointment booked with us has helped turn this little dream into reality.

Because appointments are filling so quickly, I’ll be opening up some extra dates and later appointments across the hair side of the salon where possible.

BRAZILIAN BLOW DRY MODEL APPOINTMENTS

This treatment is designed to smooth the hair, reduce frizz and make your hair easier to manage on a day to day basis using a keratin based formula that coats and seals the hair cuticle.

It is not a hair straightener permanently changing the structure of your hair. Your hair can still hold curls and volume afterwards, however the overall finish is usually smoother, silkier and far less fluffy or frizzy.
