✨ UNDERSTANDING LASER PIGMENT REMOVAL ✨
Think of the pigment in your skin like coffee grounds sitting inside a cup.
Over the years, treatments such as microblading, PMU or SMP can fill that cup with layers of pigment. The more pigment that’s present, the darker and more saturated the result appears.
💡 So how does laser work?
Laser energy passes safely through the skin and targets the pigment particles beneath the surface. The energy shatters these larger particles into tiny fragments, making them small enough for your body’s natural immune system to recognise and gradually remove.
After each session, your body continues clearing these fragments over the following weeks. This is why laser removal is a process—not an instant result.
☕ Imagine your skin is a cup…
If your cup is completely full of pigment, our goal is to gradually drain the cup, one treatment at a time.
✔️ If you’re planning a correction or a softer, more natural look, we may only need to drain the cup to around halfway. This leaves enough pigment for a beautiful refresh while removing unwanted saturation.
✔️ If your goal is complete removal, we continue draining the cup until as much pigment as possible has been cleared by your body.
Every treatment removes a little more, allowing us to work safely, predictably and naturally, without over-treating the skin.
✨ The aim isn’t to rush the process—it’s to respect your skin, allowing it time to heal while your body does the rest.
Beautiful results come from patience, precision, and working with your body’s natural healing process.

📍At Little London Clinic, we believe understanding the process is just as important as the treatment itself. Every skin is different, every pigment behaves differently, and every treatment plan is tailored to you.
Save this post if you’ve ever wondered how laser pigment removal really works, and send us a message if you’d like to know whether your pigment is suitable for laser removal. ✨

Not all pigments respond to laser the same way 👀
Understanding the difference between organic, inorganic, mineral & hybrid pigments is so important when it comes to PMU removal and correction treatments.
✨ Organic pigments
• Smaller particles
• Softer fade over time
• Often respond differently under laser
✨ Inorganic / mineral pigments
• More compact structure
• Iron-oxide based
• Can sometimes oxidise or darken before lifting
✨ Hybrid pigments
• A blend of both worlds
• Designed for colour stability
• Each case reacts uniquely during removal
This is why a proper consultation, patch test & tailored treatment plan matters before starting laser removal. No two brows — or pigments — behave exactly the same.
Laser isn’t just about removing colour… it’s about understanding what’s underneath the skin first 🤍
