Sunscreen should be part of your everyday skincare routine, not something we only reach for when the sun is shining. UV exposure happens during everyday activities too — from your morning walk and driving to sitting outside with a coffee. 🤍

Daily SPF helps protect your skin from premature ageing, pigmentation and sun damage, while keeping your skin looking healthier for longer. ✨

And remember: your makeup doesn’t replace your SPF! Apply your sunscreen as the final step of your skincare routine before makeup. 💆🏼‍♀️

Think of SPF as your skin’s everyday essential. 🧴☀️

A little business update 🤍

I wanted to take a moment to address something that has been becoming increasingly noticeable within my diary over the last few months.

Cancellations are unfortunately part of running any appointment-based business, and I completely understand that sometimes things happen and plans change. However, recently I’ve seen a noticeable increase in cancellations, particularly with my spray tan appointments.

Over the last 3 months, I’ve had 10 cancellations, all from different clients.

To put that into perspective, that represents £369.40 worth of appointments cancelled.

What’s particularly concerning is that 4 of those 10 bookings had no deposit paid, meaning the appointment time had been reserved, but when the booking was cancelled there was nothing retained for the time I had set aside.

As a small, independent business, cancellations and empty appointment slots have a direct impact on my livelihood. When an appointment is cancelled at short notice, I’m not simply losing an appointment — I’m potentially losing income that I rely on to cover my business costs and pay myself.

I absolutely appreciate that things happen, and I will always do my best to be understanding. 🤍

However, to protect my diary and my business moving forward, all bookings manually added by me will now require a deposit to be paid within 24–48 hours of booking.

Please note: your appointment is NOT confirmed or secured until the deposit has been paid.

If the deposit hasn’t been received within the required timeframe, the appointment slot may be released and made available for somebody else to book.

This isn’t a decision I’ve made lightly, but it’s one I feel is necessary to protect my time, my income and the sustainability of my little business. 🤍

✨ 6 Exfoliation Mistakes to Avoid ✨

Exfoliation can leave your skin looking brighter and smoother—but only when done correctly. Here are some common mistakes that could be doing more harm than good:

🤍 Not wearing SPF – Freshly exfoliated skin is more sensitive to UV damage, making daily sunscreen essential.

🤍 Exfoliating before a facial – Most professional facials already include exfoliation, so doing it beforehand can leave your skin over-sensitised.

🤍 Exfoliating every day – Over-exfoliation can damage your skin barrier, leading to dryness, irritation, and breakouts.

🤍 Using harsh physical scrubs – Rough scrubs can cause micro-tears and unnecessary inflammation.

🤍 Using too many active ingredients – Mixing exfoliating acids with other strong actives can overwhelm your skin and compromise its barrier.

🤍 Using too much pressure – Exfoliation should always be gentle. Scrubbing harder won’t give better results—it only increases irritation.

✨ Instead: Choose an exfoliant that’s right for your skin type, use it just 1–3 times a week (or as recommended), keep your skin hydrated, and never skip your daily SPF. Healthy skin comes from consistency, not overdoing it. 🤍
