A little look inside HGI’s Wellness & Aesthetics Day ✨
A day of education, live demonstrations, new technology, familiar favourites and lots of conversations about where skin, aesthetics and wellness are heading.
Days like this are such a good opportunity to step away from the treatment room, catch up with people in the industry, discover what’s new and spend some time learning from the brands and people behind them.
There were some Palm Tree favourites in the room, a few things that definitely caught my eye 👀 and lots of ideas to take back to the studio.
And somewhere amongst all of that, I got to share a little of the Palm Tree journey too. 🌴

A little outside my comfort zone… 🌴
Yesterday I was invited by Harpar Grace International to be a guest speaker at their Manchester Wellness & Aesthetics event, talking about my journey with Palm Tree Skin and my relationship with HGI over the years.
Public speaking definitely isn’t something that comes naturally to me and I may not be getting a presenting job on This Morning anytime soon 😂, but I put myself outside my comfort zone, got up there and did it.
From starting Palm Tree in one small treatment room to standing up and talking about the business I’ve built was actually a lovely moment.

More than just a nail appointment 💅🏼🫶
The new job. The holiday. The date. The engagement. The house move. The baby. The promotion… and all the little life updates in between.
When you see the same people every few weeks, you end up sharing so much more than a nail appointment.
Annie gets to hear it all — the good, the bad, the exciting and everything in between. ☺️
Because somehow, a nail appointment is never just a nail appointment. 🌴
Owning a business can look very different from the outside. 🌴
The treatments, the products, the events, the lovely studio, the exciting new things… that’s the bit you tend to see on Instagram.
Behind it is a lot of decision-making, changing direction, getting things wrong, starting again and wondering whether you’re doing the right thing. 😂
You learn that not everyone is meant to stay. You learn that growth sometimes means simplifying rather than adding more. You learn that you’ll be misunderstood, gossiped about and underestimated and that you can’t control the version of you that exists in somebody else’s conversation.
And probably the biggest one… the buck always stops with you.
The finances, the decisions, the mistakes, the difficult conversations — ultimately, they’re yours to carry.
I’m still learning. I still overthink. I still change my mind. But I think one of the biggest things business has taught me is to trust myself a little more and keep building anyway.
Palm Tree looks very different to the business I originally started and I’m very different too.
And I think that’s probably the whole point. 🌴

A little look at what’s new and what’s coming at Palm Tree 🌴
Over the last few months I’ve been quietly working on the treatments, products and plans I genuinely think add something to what we already do.
We’ve introduced DÉCAAR Algae Peel, Cell Story and Bio Stim, giving us even more options when creating individual treatment plans — from breakouts, texture and pigmentation to ageing, skin quality and regeneration.
Our shelves are changing too. Airyday has arrived, with more skincare brands joining Palm Tree soon.
And it’s not just skin…
Hybrid Brows and Korean Lash Lift are coming to our beauty menu, while behind the scenes we’re working on a completely refreshed website alongside our new memberships and skin programmes.
The aim has never been to have the biggest treatment menu or bring in every new thing that launches.
It’s about carefully choosing treatments, technology and skincare that genuinely add something. 🌴

A little reintroduction, because it’s been a while… 👋🏼
I’m Victoria, founder of Palm Tree Skin.
I’ve worked in the beauty and skin industry for 24 years now… which sounds slightly terrifying when I actually write it down 😂
Palm Tree has changed and evolved a lot over the years, but the part I love most hasn’t really changed at all.
At heart, I’m an aesthetician. I love getting to the bottom of challenging skin concerns and supporting patients through long-term skin journeys. For me, it’s always about working out what somebody’s skin actually needs — rather than jumping on every new treatment or trend.
I’m a big believer in evidence-led skincare, natural results and sometimes doing less, not more.
But there’s obviously a lot more to me than skin…
I’m a mum and a wife, an overthinker and a serial voice-note sender 😂. I love spending time with family and friends, fashion, interiors, good food, holidays -travelling and generally making the most of the time I get with the people I love.
I love the big things, but probably even more, all the ordinary little moments in between.
So whether you’ve been coming to Palm Tree for years, have followed along for a while, or you’ve only just found us — hello 🫶🌴

THE DÉCAAR ALGAE PEEL 🌿
One of those treatments that doesn’t necessarily look glamorous… but your skin will thank you for it 😂
The DÉCAAR Algae Peel has quickly become one of my favourites for skins that need a proper reset.
Particularly good for:
✨ Breakouts & congestion
✨ Post-acne marks
✨ Uneven texture
✨ Enlarged pores
✨ Dull, sluggish skin
✨ Overall skin rejuvenation
Unlike a traditional acid peel, this is an algae-based resurfacing treatment designed to stimulate the skin’s natural renewal process…making it a brilliant option when we want to work on texture, clarity and overall skin quality.
As always at Palm Tree, it’s not about doing the strongest treatment possible. It’s about choosing the right treatment for your skin and building it into a plan.

After 24 years in this industry, one of the things I love most isn’t actually skin… it’s the people. 🫶
When you see someone every month, every six weeks, every season for years, you don’t just talk about skincare.
You talk about jobs, relationships, weddings, babies, holidays, parents, children and everything in between.
You celebrate the good times together and sometimes support each other through the difficult ones too.
Many of my patients have been with me for years, and it’s one of the biggest privileges of my job.
Of course, patients come and go too.
In a world that’s social-media mad, it’s impossible not to notice when someone you’ve treated pops up on another practitioner’s Instagram feed. 😂
And after all these years, I’ve learnt that’s okay.
Every practitioner has a different approach, different experience and a different offering. People should always do what’s right for them.
Some patients stay for a season.
Some become lifers. 🌴
Some disappear for years and then suddenly reappear as though they’ve never been away. 😂
And honestly? That’s one of the lovely things about this industry.
Whether you’ve been with me for 10 years, 10 months or you’re brand new to Palm Tree, thank you for trusting me with your skin and for letting me be a small part of your story. 🌴
